What's your favorite 1911? What do you think is the best value for the money?
I almost bought an R1, bought it seemed too cheap compared to other 1911's. Didn't shoot it and never owned one, so it may be great I'm just ignorant in this instance.
Dan Wesson 10mm
Price gets up there, but it reflects quality, action is slicker than OP's mom after a good dicking.

I wouldn't buy anything by Remington at this point. If I were still in the market for a 1911, I'd get a Ruger.

The one in my hand.
Seriously, I like my Springfield GI well enough. Except of course for the Clinton hole in the mainspring housing. Meh.

the R1 is a fantastic cheap 1911.
there are few remingtons still worth buying, the 700 and the R1
Not the most reliable but much more fun shooting than your plebshittier 1911s

if one barrel misfires, does it have enough recoil energy to cycle?
This

actually it seems it does
even if both barrel misfires it has enough recoil to cycle
Colt, Remington, or Kimber are fine as long as you do not spend more than $900 for any of them. Above $1000 look to a Les Baer or Dan Wilson. Above $2000 is mostly cosmetic and somewhat fit and function.

I hear Ruger's 1911 is pretty awesome when it comes to value for money.

I love my Colt Series 70. The quality is simply amazing, just look at the fit there. I'm not changing anything on it, it's completely perfect from the factory.

>aim the barrel directly into your hand

It's not cocked, and has no mag.
I like Baers and Colts

Does anyone know of some replacement sights for a chiappa 1911?
>>31933930
did they have to serial number every part because the fit was that bad that you couldn't interchange parts?
>>31938305
No. To keep track of parts so no one smuggled them out.

Nigga this aint even a question
