Fun show in central IL this weekend. Snagged this for $850 out the door. Dealer was cool as shit. Vet from the 173rd. Quick search on the serial dates it to 1940-1945. Has the RRA stamp which I'm familiar with. Really curious about a particular stamp on the grip. Post a pic next.
Who else got new funs this weekend?
This is the marking I'm curious about. Can't seem to find much. Anyone have any ideas what it might mean or if it's significant to anything?

My original plan was to stock up on ammo. Got 500 9mm for $100. Wanted to get a few hundred .223 but couldn't find anything at all decent enough price. Wife kinda surprised me with the garand. I got her a nice kitchen table for our anniversary qnd she said she was gonna get me an AK for my birthday/Christmas (they're 1 day apart) and I ended up walking out with this instead.
