Is it possible to fire a .45 ACP round out of a Martini-Henry?
I want to remove Zulu without breaking the bank.
>>31923552
Nope.
>>31923552
hand load
>>31923552
Sort of.
You can use adapters but the bullet is about .008" to engage the threads at the start of the barrel. It will rattle down the bore until the taper allows it to engage the rifling.
>>31923552
no, and you're a dumb shit if you try
The bullet a Martini Henry fires is the size of an entire .45ACP cartridge.
>>31923552
>I want to shoot an antique blackpowder weapon with long obsolete and discontinued cartridges
>for cheap
Get a modern made musket if you want an antique feeling for cheap.
>>31923574
This is literally the only good option.
>>31923600
Seems like it'd keyhole like crazy.
>>31923690
No, I don't want to shoot locks off.
>>31923552
this is a serious fucking question? lol...
There are reloading setups where you can reload on a coffee table.
Lrn2livepoor
I learned to bake bread, cook rice and beans, buy bulk meat, make my own wine, etc.
I'm poor as hell.
Learn to live on less.
Just make your own rounds mate
You obviously don't deserve a Martini Henry. Let me take it off your hands.
>>31924606
Jesus fuck m80, I'm a 9-5 manual laborer, and even I want to know what the fuck is wrong with your hands?
>>31924606
looks like my hand, what is your preference handgun wise?
>>31924798
That was about 5 weeks in to a patrol inna ghan, so hands were a bit fucked. That dust really messes them up.
>>31923552
You're dumb and I hate you, try getting a martini Enfield in .303 next time if you can't reload or source/afford ammo in.577/450, oh and if you try putting .45acp through one I will find you, rip out your skull and use it as a cereal bowl
>>31924845
Gotcha. Where I live the dust gets nasty in the summer, I can only imagine what Afghan dust must do. Is it more sand or dirt?
>>31924862
Depends where you are man/what time of year, there is a fine powder dust that gets in to everything/all over everything, it's almost like talc, all over the ground of most patrol bases from smashed rocks.
I have more pics of the Martini our Engineers found, was the reason I came to this thread
>>31924891
Sounds like where I am. Shit is extremely alkaline, and finer than Gold Bond, impossible to wash out of clothing or get off of equipment. Post the pics man, I'm curious. You fire any of them off?
>>31925030

>>31925030

make an adapter with jb weld
>>31925030
3/3
Nah, didn't manage to get any rounds off, they were home made looking and frankly I wouldn't of been brave enough to stick them in a 120 year old rifle we just took off a local and give it a go.

>>31925124
>>31925137
That's a sexy rifle
OP may or not be aware that it is quite possible to rebarrel his Zulu-slayer in caliber .303. The Martini-Enfield was a popular sporting weapon a hundred years ago.
This seems like the sort of thread to ask. Is it possible to turn a .303 martini carbine into a .410 shotgun? I've heard of people doing it with SMLE's and was just wondering if it would be a similar kinda dealio.
>>31925558
I reckon you could, a falling block action is pretty strong and I would guess 410 has lower chamber pressures than 303 brit, you might have to ream the chamber I'm not sure.
>>31923552
Just get a machinist to run up a conversion sleeve.
>picrelated
>>31925137
I remember in Generation Kill there was an officer who used a captured AKM in combat. Would you get your shit kicked in for trying to use something other than your assigned weapon, or could you actually use a motherfucking Martini Henry in combat against sand-niggers?
>>31923552
Headspace nigga, you need a rimmed cartridge.
>>31923552
Anyone have that copfag's story about the kid using a Martini-Henry for home defense?
>>31926617
Seconding this,
Pls post greentext
>>31925137
Nice rifle. Would have handled being fired.
An actual British made MkI M-H converted to the newer MkII pattern. Not your typical Kyber pass garbage.
>>31925558
Yep. A SMLE .410 barrel will screw right in. Will index upside down and will need the extractor cutoout cut but the .303 extractor works with the .410

Thnx
Have some ammo.
>>31926393
Fucking Captain America.

I'm not worthy of your presence.. oh teach me your learned ways, senpai
>>31927804
>they actually put a Zulu warrior on the box
The absolute madmen.
>>31927361
Fantastic
>>31924604
>i can cook beans and rice
Are there people out there who can't?
>>31925912
>410 has lower chamber pressures
Chamber pressure isn't what you have to worry about. What you have to worry about is bolt thrust which is the amount of force that the head of the case pushes back against the bolt head/breech face with. If I remember correctly .410 has a similar bolt thrust to .38 special though so it's pretty much safe in anything large enough to fit a thick enough barrel.
>you might have to ream the chamber I'm not sure.
You just completely swap the barrel if you want to do something like that.
>>31927361
There's a second part of this but I don't have it

>>31925912
>>31926968
thanks guys
>>31927905
It's like mouse traps having a pic of a mouse on it
>>31931675
Ammo boxes often have pictures of what you're supposed to hunt with it.
>>31929313
If I recall, the second part is even more depressing than the end of the first part.
>>31931816
Sounds legit
>>31931877
Yikes (tm)
>>31927361
Damn. I feel really bad for that C kid though. Kid had a good shot of moving up in the world, but that betafag of a step father has probably scarred him for life by chewing him out for saving his own life and then bringing charges against him.
>>31923690
Functional Antique guns are cheaper than modern replicas. Not buying the antique is pretty much on the same level as spending $300 for a airsoft nagant.
>>31932117
The last I heard of it was that C's grandfather 'corrected' his stepdad's behaviour towards him. I don't know if there was any bad news after that. Too bad the OP posted the rest in another thread and no-one linked to it in the original.
>>31928349
YES.
Go lurk on /ck/ and see their "abomination" threads.
>>31931877
Holy kek
There used to be Mauser kits to shoot 45 acp way way back in the day when they were dirt cheap.

>>31925124
>>31925114
What happened to the rifle? Was it given away or sold? Destroyed?
