Give me your experiences with Mausers /k/

Shitty, nasty and cheap rifles. Bought a turk mauser and it was the worst purchase i've made after a colt 1911. Suppose I was spoiled by my Mosin as i've yet to find a rifle that compares.
I want to buy a german K98K. Is that this shitty too?

I have shot alot of Mausers, Most of them honestly feel pretty much the same. I have two M1903s and a Gew 98 and they feel and shoot the same. The only Mauser style rifle that really stands out was probably the M1917/P14. All in all they are really fun to shoot.

They shoot an uncommon and expensive round, and different bores across the rifles that use the round means you have to search for good ammo, because most commercial is loaded to low pressures because of fudds using the wrong rifle
I had an RC Kar98K ('39 production) and I loved it. I sold it to my brother when he jump-started a WWII collection in a no-fun state, otherwise I'd still have it.
The only thing I did not like was the pyramid front sight. That's it.
Ultra fun rifle.

haha I cant believe you just said that on /k/.

I used to own a nice Yugo mauser in 8mm and then a Chilean 7mm. both were nice but ultimately i gave them up because they are kindof expensive to feed in my area and i needed the cash more than either rifle.

He was trolling, they are wonderful rifles and it's why rifles built today still use the action.
They've always been good experiences. They are reliable and generally accurate rifles, very simple to maintain and operate.

babby's first b8
Do they need some special thing? New parts or something?
>>31919158
Not generally, no. But if they ever do functional spare parts are easy to come by, though not always historically correct to the rifle.

Is it a sacrilege if I want to scope a Yugo M48 or a Nugget like that?

depends on the Nugget
I would go with the Yugo
>>31920462
Yes. Don't do it.

1924 Hexnugget. I'm thinking the Yugo then.

> 1924 Hexnugget
seems like an updated Dragoon to me
8mm Mauser is the better round anyway, so go for the Mauser
>>31920462
Unless you have a ZRAK, don't scope an M48.

Like that?
I shot mine at a bunch of Jews once. The recoil made me forget about war crimes.

The closest thing on it to an Enfield is the safety.
My ideal Mauser:
>k98 stock and bolt
>Mauser-Vergueiro trigger guard/hinged floor plate and front sight post
>6.5×55mm Swedish
I love my vz 24 it's bolt is smoother than my buddy's k98k
>>31921479
most german mausers have mismatched bolts ore are refinished, thats usually the cause. matching k98s have the smooth bolts they're supposed to have
