No, everyone knows the AE86 is the fastest car.
>>
>>31914446
And japanese.

Therefore, it would have to be the Mitsubishi F-2.

How fast is the F-2? Can it outrun every other fighter jet like the AE-86 can to cars?

Pro tip: S12 Gazelle.
Pretty much interchangeable with the AE86 but 1/10th of the price.
>>
>>31916684
technically, this thing still exists
>>
>>31916899
True, but anyone who spends BMW tier money on a hot hatch is retarded.
>>
>>31916926
well, i see your point, if you want BMW you can get a used M3 for the same money.

Then again, a three year old 130i or something can be had for very little money on the wrong side of the atlantic

Then again, imagine that the fate of the RWD hatch rests with fucking bmw of all things
>>
>>31916938
> the fate of the RWD hatch

"the fate of"?

I know that US auto engineering lags at least 1/4 of a century behind the rest of the developed world, but, RWD? seriously?

with the sole exception of BMW, RWD hatches have gone the way of the dodo, killed stone dead by this little thing called the Golf GTI. it was only introduced in 1976, so I can only assume that this supposedly radical 40-year old technology hasnt quite reached your corner of the planet.

Volkswagen, for people that hate working on cars.

Fujiwara Tofu shop i'd suppose

also, i'm really not sure what you are trying to say with the upper part of the post.

I'm trying to say that "the fate of RWD hatches" is an oxymoron. The fate of the RWD hatch was sealed 40 years ago.

the RWD hatch has been pretty much extinct for the last 30 years

It was killed off by small, faster, warm-blooded FWD species first heralded by the Golf GTI in 1976, and by about 1986, every single significant hot hatch - Golf GTI mkII, Peugeot 205GTI, Renault 5 Turbo, Fiat Strada Abarth, Honda CR-X, etc - every one was FWD.

the RWD hatchbacks (and the british RWD sports roadsters) were dinosaurs. And the Golf GTI was the asteroid.

And this 556 HP monster is the nuke bruce willis sets off on the asteroid?
>>
>>31917313
by "hatches" I'm referring to the hot hatchbacks, like the Golf, not some lumbering whale of a plastic-interiored tank built in the US.

the rest of the world has moved on, while you're still in the Cretaceous period.

American auto technology lags behind Europe by about 20 years on average. Behind Japan, about 25-30 years.

That leviathan is no more a hot hatch than a tractor is.
>>
>>31917342
Except the CTS-V destorys a golf gti in every "hot" metric beside being a compact death trap.
>>
>>31917331
And this 556 HP monster is the nuke bruce willis sets off on the asteroid?

more the evolutionary throwback that doesnt realise that the rest of the planet has moved on.
(not least that I would wager that if you stuck it on a track, hot hatches with half the horsepower would run circles around it by dint of half the weight, and better handling)
>>
>>31917349
>Except the CTS-V destorys a golf gti in every "hot" metric beside being a compact death trap.

like how many gallons it consumes to the mile?
turning circle, measured in states?
Are they as plastic and badly assembled as all the other US-built cars?

its ok, I understand, those pesky yooros are a terrible threat to your nationalistic ego, but, really... the "hot hatch" killed the RWD dinosaurs on the rest of the planet.
Lets put it this way. No-one outside of North America buys the CTS-V. same way no-one outside the US buys insanely overpowered, oversized trucks when european of japanese makers do the job of AWD utility machines better. No-one buys US-made sports cars outside the US, when japanese, german or italian makers do that better. And so on. The US auto industry is a bubble. Ford sells cars around the world. But those which arent made in the US are designed in germany, and are utterly different to US designs. GM's the same.

>muh road courses

Actually both are record holders for their perspective classes at Nürburgring. (Golf gti clubsport type s was 10~ seconds faster, 6 years newer model)

Would depend on the track.
>>
>>31917450
>muh road courses
>would depend on the track

I was never particularly obsessed with track times, to be honest. only reason I say "run circles on a track" is just I disapprove of the idea of it running circles on the open road where other drivers are. that's just irresponsible. if you're going to drive like a dick in a road car, dont do it on public roads.

That said, I expect that the golf would do even better, relatively speaking, on tracks that dont have a 2+ mile long straight, and the flat-out 2-mile section from Bergwerk to Steilstrecke.

Kinda slow and underpowered but in dowhill drift could present a challenge even for highest tier of vehicles.
>>
>>31917542
>if you're going to drive like a dick in a road car, dont do it on public roads.
In Initial D they put observers on roads with radios to warn about traffic during races (and during race hours there was very little traffic to being with). Japanese, been nice even when go delinquent.
