MTEK Flux vs Crye Airframe vs Ops-Core

Who wins?

Cute airframe is a e s t h e t I c
Not really sure why it's got that division up that makes it so aesthetic though

ops core becuase they have more support for different features.
>>
>>31904588
It literally looks like you've never worn that helmet into the field. Also

>no 3m arc rail attachments for ear pro.

either you don't run comms in which case you should have gotten a full cut. Or more likely you run yours comms under your helmet but you've never worn your helmet for any appreciable amount of time because that shit SUCKS.
>>
>>31904588
It's not like these features like up-armor are a plus to anyone.
>>
>>31904075
Just get what looks best, they are somewhat equal. You'll have to wait ages for crye to deliver though.
>>
>>31904322
>Not really sure why it's got that division

It allows for much better airflow circulation which makes the helmet dramatically more comfortable to wear for long durations performing any strenuous activity.

Using two shells instead of one also allows for a much closer conformity to the human head in place of traditional methods that would otherwise cause darting of the ballistic material and increase unnecessary weight.

Not him but you're being a bitch. The "holier then thou" attitude can fuck off. I had to wear a PASGT for 9 months, it wasn't that bad. And it's 150-200% heavier then say an ACH.

Statistically the PASGT is safer then the ACH/MICH2000. In the time the switch was being made they found most injuries to the head were in areas not covered by the helmet, not penetration of said helmet. There is a info graphic somewhere of the two overlapping a head. But the PASGT offers more area coverage at the cost of weight and inferior penetration resistance. Unit commanders had the choice of keeping the PASGT for a while, but then the army made it mandatory to use the ACH.

Politics aside, they still make a very good helmet that offers the about the same functionality of an Ops Core while being cheaper and slightly comfier
Lot of international units starting to pick it up after Ops Core jacked up their prices due to demand
Also, Ops Core's parent company, Gentex, has also donated to the Clinton campaign, so if you're going to boycott Team Wendy over that, you should boycott Ops Core as well

Just buy a used PVS14 and use it as a gateway item. Dropping a shitload of money into NODs then tripping on your nice setup/getting a spot will ruin your day for a while.

Want low cost nod training? Walk around outside at night with an eye patch on one eye and some sort of tube/blocker over the other eye. Keep the ambient light common in your neighborhood and you will have the awkwardness required
>>
>>31905223
Got nothing right now. Limited to daytime. I won't bother wasting 500 on a gen 1 monocle to hold me over until my filmless pvs 14 arrives. TNVC is bogged down right now.
>>
>>31905248
Already trained with an "issued PVS 14" it fucking sucked to drive with but I spent more time adjusting it then anybody else and it payed off by not being uncomfortable.

The ACH/MICH2000 offer ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE better blunt force trauma protection and helmet stability for shit like NODs.

When 99% of fatal head injuries and 85%+ of nonfatal head injures from 2003-2011 were nonpenetrating (blunt force trauma or blast overpressure) this was a huge deal for the military.
>>

What is the cheapest bump helmet that comes with a shroud compatible with the PVS7 that's actually worth a shit? Cuz looking at the Fast Bump, I'm not sure I wanna pay more than 3x what I could get an ACH for, for a fucking bump helmet.
>>
>>31905429

PVS7 is shit, dont get it. A vega with a big ass active IR illumination will do a hell of a lot better

Cheapest bump helmet is a protec, but they are sort of hard to find ($80ish). Throw on a wilcox l4 or opscore vas shroud (both under $80)

Another option is a crye night cap, doesnt work well if you have long luscious locks

I prefer a Monocle over goggles. Was a lot easier to navigate rough terrain and didn't loose all my peripheral vision. Personal preference I guess. Im not a serviceman, my buddy let me run around with his team Wendy bump helmet and mounted Monocle and then goggles. Ran around an island on the north west coast just after sunset and a few hours past dark. Preffered mono, added IR torch, still liked mono. But I'm just a civy...

Was it a true bino or something like pvs-7?
Usually anyone who uses bino notices that it's miles ahead, depth perception n shiet.
>>
>>31905996
Nah tru bino. it was good, absolutely, I found it was much easier on my vision running with just the mono. Much faster transitioning to different light sources. My bud who showed me the gear has seen lots of service and bought both. He ran with the mono as his primary.
>>
>>31906042
Well too late I guess, I have two pvs-14s being built for me. Going to convert them to true binos a bit later.
