As for movies; Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, Full Metal Jacket, The Transporter, Dawn of the Dead (1979), Day of the Dead (1985?), and Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn. For TV shows; Ash VS Evil Dead, Vikings, Outlander (based in the 18th century. Protagonist is a female, but still a pretty damn cool show, with quite a bit of sex/nudity), and if you want to contemplate (or finally put in the effort for) suicide, Sons of Guns.
