Harder to accurize something with a shitload of moving parts or something idk, I guess it's why the Cheytac Intervention is a bolt gun. Thing is the PSG-1 is supremely accurate and it's a semi. Must be glorious German engineering at work.

The PSG-1 demonstrates that automatic arms can be made appropriately accurate. However, it weighs more than two and a half normal rifles and it costs as much as a small car.

I'm guessing the governments prefer bolt guns for the cost and the men fielding them prefer the bolt guns for the weight.

The soviets have automatic precision rifles, but their doctrine is weird

They are fine. Few civilian weapons would give an advantage against any normal military unit anyway. We would be competing against crew-served weapons and platoon to battalion level mortar teams for the most part.. Attacks would usually be of a shoot and scoot methodology, and in this role they would be acceptable.

If your using a bolt gun as a primary weapon you better have surprise on your side.
