Question for you guys, my recent build is double firing. I function checked it as follows
1. Pull charging handle back on empty mag, bolt locke open
2. Release bolt, dry fire, keep trigger held back
3. Pull charging handle all the way back and release with trigger still held back
4. Slowly release trigger with bolt closed and hammer drops again
What did I do wrong

I bought a 762sdn can, and I have 900 to spend. Should I buy a 300 blk upper or should I buy 9mm can?

I traded my 9mm AR for a USP Compact (2003, pic related) and $400. Made out pretty well considering I priced out individual parts for my AR9 and that totaled to be ~$950 (not even including deals/package deals from when I built) without the light or sights which weren't included in the trade. Supposedly it was a safe queen. Fired about 50 rounds through it and I love it.

18" 1:8 twist barrel either salt bathed or chrome lined in rifle gas length.

I am only finding a very few good barrels in that narrow search.

Anyone else have any suggestions? I personally wouldn't have mind dropping $300 for a Daniel Defense CHF or Noveske, but DD only makes 1:7 twist and Noveske's 18" barrel is $400+

And I'm going for 1:8 because I'll only be shooting 69gr-77gr occasionally with mainly 55gr and 62gr.

Do all multi-position buttstocks have a bit of wiggle in them? I have a standard milspec buttstock on my M&P 15 and it's a little wobbly. I compared it to an LWRC with LWRC buttstock, which also had some give in it. Is this just a fact of life when using a six-position buttstock?

Is there an end plate that attaches to a rifle buffer tube when the stock is removed?

What I'm thinking is that if I want to put a pistol upper on my lower I'd have to legally remove the stock. But if I did that my rear takedown detent and spring isn't secure. Does anyone make anything for this oddly specific scenario? I would never ever put the stock on with a pistol upper and would never just keep it around just for insurance purposes.

Here's what I'm thinking I'm gonna rig up. A normal endplate (red), with (green) two parallel metal connecting bars on either side of the tube welded to the plate and extending back over (yellow) an A2 end cap, and secured by (blue) a regular stock screw. That's probably secure enough to hold in the detent, easier to switch in and out of, and its pistol-legal.
