China presented a prototype of their new Light Spectrum AESA radars during the Zhuhai Airshow.
It would steer a light beam scanning a wide area by electronic means rather than mechanical means such as motor driven mirrors.
The possible electronic means should be in the same way as a DLP device, micro-mirrors on a silicon chip steered by electric signals.
The beam is likely laser.
This device could be the basis on which their new Quantum Radar is based on, as it also uses optical spectrum/photons for detecting stealth targets.
Radar stealth, again, is being defeated.
