10/22 thread
Everyone post babby's first gun.
>>31881346
That stock seems pointlessly low for use with that scope
Anyone here have any good tactical builds?

>First rifle(s)
Bottom two and top one; got them at the same time, along with a Carcano that's not pictured. So now the great mystery; either I was a very big babby, or I didn't become a gun owner until later in life.
Also, yeah, it's an old fuckin' picture...

>>31883543
Glenfield. A rebadged Marlin.
>>31881346
Bought this yesterday for 200 CAD
>>31884199
Seems like a pretty damn sweet deal... but... why such a big scope? I mean even a 3x optic would be excessive. What's that one?
>>31881514
There are risers available, OP is probably too cheap to buy.
First Gun

Does magpul make a version of that stock for the TD model?
I would love to see some decked-out 10/22s
>>31885698
Decked out you say?
The only thing left Ruger is the bolt, receiver and the heavily modified stock.
>>31887468
Green mountain barrel
I stoned the hammer myself
Volquartsen flat trigger
Polished receiver and bolt
Bolt buffer
Bedded receiver
Widened barrel channel and added cheek riser
Shitty Weaver 4-12 on shitty .22 rings
Still cloverleafs 5 shots at 50 yards
gun is probably close to 30 years old. Still remember 1st time shooting it with my dad.
>>31887529
Nice. Really is amazing to think that the Ruger 10/22 is a 52 year old design. 1964 is when it came out, isn't it?
>>31885570
Yes
>>31881514
>>31885023
Why would I need a riser?
I checkweld the thing fine.
>>31885570
If it's not already out, they're definitely making one.
This was the stock I used to have my 10/22 in, just sitting in my closet now. Anyone think I could trick some mall-ninja into paying 60 bucks for it?
>>31891290
All 10/22 stocks are designed to be used with iron sights. When you put a scope on the rifle you raise the sight line by about an inch. Look where the center of your objective lens is in relation to the height of your rear sight. They are nowhere near the same plane.
So there are only two possibilities in your case. Either you have no idea what a cheek weld is, what it means, or what a good one is... Or you weigh 700 pounds and your cheek is 2" thick. Because there is no possibility on this Earth that you have a proper cheek weld with that stock, or this stock. >>31881346

Anyone tried this, seen it, or want one?

Canadian law; non-restricted firearms are required to be locked, restricted firearms must be double-locked.
A lock is qualified as a trigger lock, having the firearm in a locked container, having it in a safe, or having it in a locked room that cannot be easily broken into (like having it without windows or with at least locks on the windows).
So if the room is acting as a safe, then a manually operated firearm or a rimfire rifle can be left pretty much anywhere without a trigger lock or being in a safe/locked container. Or it could be left in a safe without trigger lock, or in that case with a lock on the case.
As for restricted firearms like pistols and centerfire short barreled rifles (M1 Carbine for instance; SPR means barrel less than 18.5" long), those require two locks as mentioned. So in a locked room with a trigger lock. In a locked with and in a safe with no trigger lock. In a safe with a trigger lock without the room being locked. Something like that.
Might sound excessive, but in my opinion someone who leaves a firearm and ammo for that firearm in an unlocked room, without trigger locks, without a safe, or without any other type of method of safe keeping, is an irresponsible gun owner. As I recall the Sandy Hook shooting took place by a kid who got the AR15 from his parent's room. Perhaps if they kept it locked up, then the shooting wouldn't have happened. As for how to keep a firearm nearby and ready in case of an emergency, sleep with your door locked and keep the firearm in a safe nearby. Have push-button available for quick access with a light nearby in case the power is out, and perhaps leave the keys in the hole at night on a regular basis. Take the keys, of course, when you leave the room in the morning. Lock the bedroom door before leaving the house and you'd still be abiding by Canadian law (as long as the firearm isn't loaded; just keep the mag next to the pistol. Hell, keep the slide locked back too if you want.)

>Canadian law; non-restricted firearms are required to be locked
My state has a similar law, I just don't give a fuck
There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that any of these "soft" gun control laws like required gun locks have any effect on crime.
>Perhaps if they kept it locked up, then the shooting wouldn't have happened.
Do you have a son with mental problems? No?Then their situation doesn't really apply, does it.
You know what probably would have had more of an impact on the shooting? Better parenting and having a father. But everyone tries to cure the symptoms and not the causes, by passing worthless gun lock laws for example.
> keep the firearm in a safe nearby
Nigga you have seconds to react during a home invasion. Try entering a code when you have adrenaline in your veins and your heart is running three times its normal speed.
No thanks, I'll keep my M14 under my bed unlocked and condition one.
>>31894331
Yeah but in Canada if someone's invading your home you're not allowed to use your gun you have to sit calmly and call the police
No funz
Moving to merica
>inb4 wall is built
Eh 22's are boring as shit and the ammo is too expensive. There's no point in them anymore.

Quads are gods
Anyway, look on slickguns.com and your local armslist, still priced reasonably
