So /k/, now that the election is pretty much a toss-up, which may even swing in favor of Republicans, what inexpensive Slavshit imports do you plan on buying if Trump pulls it off?

Personally I want a KS-23. But more realistically I just want 7n6 again.

When has trump said anything even remotely related to resuming cheap imports of Slav weapons?

That's like the exact opposite of his protectionist platform, which calls for raising tariffs on foreign goods to protect American goods. If anything Slavshit would get even more expensive under him and ARs would get cheaper.

Good god Republicans continually amaze me with how little they know about their own fucking party platform or candidates.

I hate this shit
for the last two elections, 1 in 4 studies will have a perfect record
for the last 4 elections, 1 in 16 will be perfectly accurate and significantly more will have a 3/4 record

it's all after the fact confirmation bias
consider a medium who predicts elections
oh wow, she got the last four right, but you don't ever hear (even in the National Inquirer) about the other 15 who didn't

polls are the same way to an extent
yes, they use statistics and math and whatever else to attempt to eliminate biases and improve their predictions, but there are sufficiently many factors that they are still effectively guesses (just like the mediums)

it is for this reason that I don't trust such claims
>>
>>31881851
Last I heard they shut down production altogether so you'd need a hell of a petition to start it back up.

>>31881988
I don't either but early voting shows a significant decrease in enthusiasm amoung Democratic blacks and the bulwark of Hispanic support is actually split down the middle.

It's still going to be a wild ride but even polls that had Trump down by over 15% have him within MOA nationally and even ahead in swing states.

If I were a betting man (and if US citizens were allowed to bet on elections) I'd put money on Trump at this point. Certainly out performed in the primaries, which I'm still kicking myself for not taking advantage of.

>for the last 4 elections, 1 in 16 will be perfectly accurate and significantly more will have a 3/4 record
How are you deriving these figures?
>>
>>31882324
I'm assuming that the studies cannot actually predict and are basically guessing at chance levels

thus 1:2 chance per election chance of getting it right
two elections is 1:4 chance of guessing every one right and 1:8 for three elections and 1:16 for four elections and so on

the actual chance of a study guessing and election is probably better than that because they actually do some real statistics
but that's the most pessimistic view

>>31887247
Literally every single reputable poll out there weights responses based on the pollster's predicted likely voter model. All oversampling does is give you greater accuracy when polling small subgroups.

Say you have a poll of 1,000 people and your likely voter model predicts that African Americans will make up 5% of the vote on election day. Now by default you would poll 50 African Americans and weight their responses by a factor of 1 (i.e. no weighting). The problem that arises is that 50 responses may not give you a particularly accurate take on what a voting block of millions is going to do on election day, which is where oversampling comes in.

What oversampling means is that the percentage of African Americans you poll is more than the predicted 5%, either intentionally for better accuracy or in the natural process of polling a random group. Where the conspiracy theorists go wrong is in assuming that this oversampled group is not then weighted to correct for the greater number of people polled. Using the above example, say you polled 100 African Americans in your survey of 1,000 people, you would weight their responses by 0.5 to match your likely voter model of 5%.

Obviously this is a simplified description of the process. In reality you are weighting a number of different subgroups, and a single individual may fall into multiple ones. The math is complex, but the results are sound.

There is slightly more credibility in questioning the likely voter models, which are generally somewhat subjective based on what kind of turnout a given pollster expects to see from an electorate, but it's still probably better to believe professional pollsters who have been doing this for decades than some dingus on the internet and his unsubstantiated theories about voter turnout.

Trump is the new Reagan. Anti gun his entire life then switches parties and claims to have seen the light. Same with his stance on Clinton, Obama, abortion, etc. But if he gets into office what do you think he'll do? What he's always supported or what the piece of paper that he wrote down his "new beliefs" on? Voting for Trump over Hillary because of gun rights seems pretty stupid especially since Obama has been a decent gunbro.
>>

You're some kind of special paranoid where up is down and left is right.
>>
>>31889730
The only reason Obama failed at any gun legislation is purely because he blew his congress hold for his first two years, and had been stonewalled ever since. And there is definitely not a lack of trying on his part to make the life of a gun owner difficult.

With Trump, there is a chance. With Hillary, there is NO chance.
