In my case I've seen my wife lock up hard when we had an aggressive dog charge us. Fortunately I don't have that problem and got it to fuck off with a command voice just a hair farther away than I would have been dumping rounds into it.

The one I recommended handles both superbly. They also have a 00 buck version if that tickles your fancy more, but the more effective option would be #1 buck.

Recoil being comfortable is well and dandy, but it's being back on target fast that matters, and low recoil helps that a lot.
