Hi /k/!
I've recently bought STALKER Call of Pripyat on steam while it's on sale and it's given me a push to finally look into actually doing a STALKER challenge. My plan is to bring a friend and go trekking and cheeki breeki up abandoned structures but I would like some tips or general information.
For one, I live in New York State, sister state to Commiefornia, so I'm not entirely sure on the open carry laws regarding rifles. My friend and I have discussed that we'd both like to bring mosins since most other things are classed as assault weapons or are open to interpretation by courts.
By my reading, I /think/ we can carry them openly so long as they aren't loaded, but the information is sketchy at best because laws are kind of vague. Has any anon had experience/have knowledge of this?
Another problem is trying to find abandoned places that aren't inhabited or actively cordoned/blocked. We aren't really looking to get spooked, so most of the abandoned hospitals and whatnot are unreasonable, but I want to hear if we have any fellow New York prisoners with any experience.
so tl;dr NY State gun laws for open carry of bolt actions and abandoned places to go.
If you've ever done a STALKER challenge, I welcome you to post your pictures!

Why do newfags always seek into CoP, and not the far superior, original STALKER, SoC?
>>31859128
desu I bought all three, but I picked randomly and chose CoP

Just hop the border south into the United States, we have open carry here in PA. Just don't have it loaded while in your vehicle and try not to look like a poacher (a Mosin looks like a hunting rifle, having a pistol on your hip or a carbine on your back might look better). AK night hikes are a thing with my friends and I: we explore various foot trails and oil/logging roads and very, very rarely run into people.

you ever take any pictures?

Not many, but some.

But I don't look to have a video game discussion here, it's /k/. I'd love if anyone with pics perhaps spooky stories (/k/ related of course) would contribute.
After all, it is halloween.

Did y'all bring 7 days of food? Did you camp next to the car? Did you scavenge?
>>31862435
Yes, we brought food for the entire week in a separate backpack. Set up a base of oper8tions, and left it there.
No, the car was left behind several hundred meters.
Yes, I found numerous old Soviet newspapers, torn uniforms, packages of NBC gear and such.

Dope AF my eurocuck friend.
That's what sucks about living in the south West USA. There are almost no ruins around us, everything is 100 years old or less, and they're almost entirely downtown and full of crack heads or meth heads.
>>31862498
Yes, unfortunately abandoned buildings which are not innawoods tend to attract crackheads. Here we have plenty of Soviet-era abandoned military installations.
Though some of them have spoopy shit, like this bricked up staircase leading to the basement.
>>31862548
Knock it down
>>31862551
I couldn't reach it. They erected a complete wall, which blocks the entrance to the staircase leading to the door on pic related. Also, the stairs were destroyed, so it's basically a pitfall to that door's level.
I took this photo through a hole through the wall.
>>31862548
Oh man if I had access to that I would bring tools back and make it into a project/excavation to get further in there. also +1,000 points for creepy factor
>>31862749
Would be pretty cool, but the place is private property of the nearby town, they don't even allow entrance into the installation. Stalkers gonna stalk.
Found a second bricked up doorway in a building which seemed to be a military hospital.
What are some free states in the US that has some spooky stuff I could explore Innawoods?
>>31864569
Utah montana and alaska.

Fucking perfect. I was going out with my bro to use a Ouija board at an asylum. The fun part is you have to be an edgy tacticool memelord because of a heightened security presence. If anything cool happens I'll post it to /x/.
