I don't have a problem, I just go shooting with my friends from time to time, and sometimes myself. It is just cheaper and easier to have my FFL process 5+ guns at a time. Also there was a good deal on ammo and I didn't have a gun that fired it. Just a hundred more to get a field / duur shotgun combo and my 590 is a pain to change the barrel on in the first place.
Other people have an addiction, I would know if I did.

Well I had a knife buying problem. After 50 knives I realised, that if I'm only using a swiss pocket knife, a Mora and and a Martiini fillet knife. So I only kept those and gave the rest away. Except those my father and my brother forged for me. Value them to much to use them.
Then I realised that I'm going to have the same problem with guns and ammo.
Stopped at 6 funs and don't need one more.
Selling of my Chiappa 9mm carbine because it is a lousy piece of italian shit.
Going to replace it with a AR in .223.

At least I bought about 20k .22s in 2012/2013 and 5k surplus 308 fmj. So I had no problem when you burgers started to panicbuy.

The government is actively trying to prevent the ability to buy them which flares up buying autism along with the gotta-collect-em-all factor of a there being so many unique and interesting variations. Once you have like 15-20 it subsides. You start thinking you'll only buy one if you sell something else.

It's not a problem for me. I budget around my gun buying habit amd always keep money there for emergencies. If I need something I put off buying the next gun since it's a want and not a need. There's a difference between spending yoyr disposeable income on things you want and buying things you want irresponsibly.

I considered getting more into cars and buying a sports car, but guns are just easier to get, and I have more use for them. A fun car would be $3,000 minimum, then I would be paying <25 year old male insurance rates, and I don't make a lot of money. Then there's the problem of no paved tracks exist in at least a 3.5 hour drive in any direction. So if I'm just going to be driving crazy on the streets, I can have enough fun and get in enough trouble with the car I've already got.

Haha I'm exactly the opposite. I have three real tracks within two hours and a ton of great mountain roads, and tons of friends in the car and trackday scene. Meanwhile there's no good ranges around me, and the few gun enthusiast friends I have go shooting maybe once every six months.

That meant that back when I had a decent income, it pretty much all went to car stuff, and I kept putting off getting guns. Now that I haven't had a steady job in over a year I don't really have money to blow on anything, of course.
