Anyone have experience with pic related (Spectre 80)? I've been doing some research but can't find much info on the quality of the finished product, just build videos. Is it comparable to a Glawk-brand Glawk?

Also 80% lower / home build general I guess.

Id avoid it.
No metal reinforcements on the frame rails for the slide too ride on.

I was under the impression there was some metal reinforcement (albeit screw-in), but is that really that much of an issue though? How much force is even acting on the rails in a locked-breech pistol?

Sure steel is stronger than plastic, but is the added strength even necessary?

Seems the forward rails are metal but the rear are plastic. This is in line with a number of other handguns, so it may be fine. I did find one reference to someone's rear rails cracking after 2000 rounds, but that's it. These have been out for a while - I figure many have probably put 5000+ rounds through, and if they had serious issues they aren't complaining very loudly...

Problem with these 80%s is the cost of glock parts. You can get police trade in glocks for 350-400 bucks, but parts kits go for around 450-500. That's on top of the cost of the receiver.

I realize this is hard for people to wrap their heads around, but the point isn't to save money here. Building guns is fun / educational. The real question is whether the end result is up to snuff.

Plus niggers will pay double for an unserialized problem solver.

You accept it with polymer frames.

I have an Intratec KG 99 that has been fired God knows how many times over the year by me and the people that owned it before me. The later Tec's fixed the problem but the KG99 has no metal buffer between the polymer frame and the bolt in the metal tube.

The frame on mine has a small crack in it. Small polymer cracks are repairable quite easily. Not big issue

it isnt
it will function if you do it right but it sure as hell isnt the same quality as a factory gun
if all you want is function and you are willing to pay 800 for a not glock go for it

OP, if you want an 80% handgun, make a Sig P229.

Here:

http://www.matrixprecisionparts.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=81

$950 for to build an 80% Sig P228/229

I don't really give a shit about aesthetics, function is all that really matters. That being said, I'd rather not have to replace the frame after a couple thousand rounds.
>>

Unfortunately the Glock parts market isn't the same as the AR15 where you can build one for less than a completed gun. Maybe in the future.

80% glock forty aluminum frame when

Bet i could shave the grip enough to actually make it usable one handed and still have meat left over for wood paneling
