Hey I got a question, if my gun is shooting high, do I need to lower or raise my front sight post?
like around 80 yards my 1936 mosin is hitting 6 feet high, I can't lower my back sight lower, but I was wondering if I change my front sight, do I need to get a taller one, or a lower one?

If your gun shoots high you need a taller front sight post. Or you could hold the current front sight lower in the rear sight square to achieve the same effect.

That is what I thought too, but a guy told me I need a lower front sight.
Ok, so looking if I need a taller front sight post, how tall would I need it?

For pistol adjustments: Front opposite, rear same. Raise your front sight or lower your rear.

*all adjustments.

Good question, the way it is done on guns without elevation adjustable front sights is to start with the tallest post you can and file the post down until the gun is on target.
Make sense?

Well, using calculus, I want to figure out that way.

a 1.6 inch front sight post? jesus fucking christ.
>>31839650
Wait, is it in feet or yards for distance?
>>31839702
oh, .48
If my mosin is shooting left with way do I adjust sights?
>>31839515
I can't fathom how anyone could be this stupid.
If you can't just imagine adding height to the post, and automatically realizing you'd be lowering your aim.... you're an absolute fucking idiot that has no business handling firearms of any kind.

Gently tap with a hammer and punch while the rifle is in a vice to one side or the other

Which way
>>31841900
don't forget to have it loaded while doing this to account for bullet weight

>six feet @80 yards
Found your problem. Mosins are designed to shoot accurately using meters. It's a European gun, stupid.
