Full metal jacket. Kubrick was a genius.
>>31831706
It's five hours or nothing.
>>31831722
I second this. The combat scenes in Dr. Strangelove (though short) were pretty good too.
>>31831660

>>31832070
they specifically complain about British sonar in the movie so whatever.
anyone seen "Siege of Jadotville"?
>>31832010
How can one director be so good at action, horror, comedy, and sci fi? Dr. Strangelove was honestly hilarious and the action scenes are pretty good. Plus based Peter Sellers is in it 3 times.
Pic related is my recommendation, not the most historically accurate but got me interested enough in Patton to read a book about him, Montgomery, and Rommel during the war. It's still a good classic film, as long as you can get past the fact that all the American tanks are M41s and the German tanks are M48s.
>>31832161
It's not bad. The action scenes are decent, and the political parts of it are more than just an afterthought for the most part. I'd say it's worth a watch just to see what you think. I doubt anyone on here is after this but if you want something tame as a babby's first war movie this is a solid candidate.
>>31832172
Based Peter Sellers 3 times and almost 4. He was originally supposed to be Major Kong.
>>31832129
well yeah, brits also had sonar/radar and knew how to use it well
Watched the 317th platoon recently, it was great.
It's about an unit composed of a few french and thai soldiers trying to fall back to the french positions during the last days of the Indochina war, and focuses on a young bright-eyed lieutenant and an old ex-wehrmacht sarge.
Great asmophere, good action scenes, even if the movie is cut like an old french movie, and really nice characters and dialogue.
Anyone remember the "newer" submarine movie that was a comedy also where a sub commander gets a fresh un experienced crew and a really old ship and at the end he gets offered his own nuc sub with fully trained crew but he rejects it

Holy fucking shit
>>31829501
This and the Redux was trippy man
pretty decent shootouts and gun handling, I didnt really paid attention, bud there was just some muzzle sweeps.
movie itself is pretty goodconsidering it is hollywood take on this theme which is not exactly exciting action apart from the assasination and church last stand, that is fucking awesome. And the window in the church is still there, punctured by many holes
