Do you feel the wind changing in Asia?

America is being driven out one country at a time.

Based Duterte started all this.

Still did the damage.

And he 'backtracked' just to please the US and give them some face.

He will go back to China to buy more weapons and get more money.

He backtracked because he realized that the Philippines would have to give up their territorial waters to the Chinese, that and everyone at home got mad at him.

He also never said he wanted to buy new weapons.

>3 Chinese Navy Ships Visit Vietnam's Cam Ranh Bay

>The visit is the first by the Chinese Navy since Vietnam opened the Cam Ranh international port facility.

Sino-Vietnamese relations are also thawing.

Quick, America! Do something! Like shitting on Ho Chi Minh's grave and claiming that it was Xi Jinping!
>>
It's only the right thing to do, unfortunately in a few decades China will be the world's biggest powerhouse and many countries have already realized that so they are positioning accordingly.
>>
>>31828570
>Still did the damage.

Yes, Duterte backtracking almost immediately heavily damaged the idea that it was better to side with China.
>>
>>31828599
So does this mean they will stop buying from the Russian armory eventually?
>>
>>31828638
15 billion in investments and 9 billion in loans from China were are still on the plate for Philippines.

At this point, he is just saying pleasing things to the USA to retard their inevitable CIA response.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/03/08/news/economy/china-february-trade-slump/index.html

As the world moves past the global trade phase and begin to produce more goods locally in automated factories China will lose a lot of power as a global economic player. It's very simple economics, you see it already with teh Amazon drone bullshit. Consumers want their products as fast as possible and there will be an incentive for building them as close to the consumer and as cheap as possible -> automation.
You saw it here first.

Guess who's selling cheaper products between the Europeans and Chinese, and guess whose government continues to be wracked by a years-long billion-dollar corruption scandal.

Also, "Giving face" isn't a serious diplomatic consideration outside your corner of Asia, Chen. Moreover, you don't ""backtrack"" "just to please" a country you intend to scuttle relations with, particularly not after insulting prominent office-holders of its government. Don't delude yourself.

>>31829196

Singapore also happens to be competently governed and comprised of an educated populace, so it won't be putting its balls on the CCP's table anytime soon.

However, IF Singapore did decide to go, it would be a very bad sign.

Honestly, I'm puzzled that over a number of years I have yet to see pro-China shitposting substantially improve. It's still the same shit. Is there some grander strategy afoot that I'm not seeing here--perhaps a relentless campaign to psychologically wear down the white man with annoyingly obvious bait?

Malaysia has been buddies to China for years. China surpassed the US as Malaysia's biggest trade partner since 2009

Also the ship procurement agreement is just the icing of the cake. The real deal (that Malaysia is desperate to sign-on) is the railway deal that connects South china sea with Indian ocean by bypassing the entire Malacca straits

Makes it even more delicious when Duterte is still demanding US troops to go, even announcing it in Japan:

>Singapore has consistently supported a strong US military presence in the Asia-Pacific region.[22]
>In 1990, the US and Singapore signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) which allows the US access to Singapore facilities at Paya Lebar Air Base and the Sembawang wharves. Under the MOU, a US Navy logistics unit was established in Singapore in 1992
>US fighter aircraft deploy periodically to Singapore for exercises, and a number of US military vessels visit Singapore.
>The US Navy's Task Force 73/Commander, Logistics Group Western Pacific is now located at Sembawang.
>The MOU was amended in 1999 to permit US naval vessels to berth at Changi Naval Base, which was completed in early 2001.

Read some papers, bro:

http://rarre.org/documents/sen/Sen-%20Human%20Rights%20and%20Asian%20Values.pdf

>Human Rights and Asian Values

Singapore was always anti-democratic and defended the same values as China, that of confucian authoritarianism.
>>
>>31831126
You missed the whole
>The MOU was amended in 1999 to permit US naval vessels to berth at Changi Naval Base, which was completed in early 2001.
>The US Navy's Task Force 73/Commander, Logistics Group Western Pacific is now located at Sembawang.
Idiot, if they were so "neutral" they would not host US Navy logistics points.
>>
>>31831142
Idiot, China wasnt even a major player in the 80s and 90s, so why shouldnt Singapore host the only world police available in that time?

China only became truly strong in the last 10 years. And that was enough for many of your "allies" to switch sides. Singapore is the next. Cap this.
>>
Malaysia is already half Chinese so it's not a surprise.
>>
>>31831171
Phillipines leaving is less about china getting strong more about Duerto hating the US, and knowing that the US has betrayed every ally they've ever had.

What is this thread even about? The Malaysian navy has historically purchased British and German ships, they were never a real importer of US ships.

We bought American LSTs before. We Malaysians love super special snowflake weapons. We buy from EVERYONE. Brits, French, Austria, German, Russia, Poland, Brazil, South Africa, Turkey, Belgium, Pakistan and now China.

Don't read too much politically into it. Right now my country wants to maintain ties with China, especially since Hillary is linked to our opposition parties.

The pic I posted is the medium term rationalisation plan for our navy. We have too many ship classes. The Chinks are going to build the Litoral Mission ships aka corvettes.

Nothing, just /pol/ salivating at the thought of muh ebil jewsa will collapse any day now. I don't even think most of these shitposters are actually chinese, the chinks (barring possible proxyfags at least) on /pol/ are some of the more grounded and reasonable posters there.
>>
>>31829196
If you honestly think that, I have bad news for you. One thing Singapore is best at is flowing with the tide and follow the money. No clear winner yet on the former so they hedge their bets, and the latter is definitely flowing from China.
