What is the most flagrantly overpriced firearm/firearm accessory you've ever seen?

> dicking around while getting an oil change
> walk over to to a pawn shop next door

> "Oh, that's cool, I've been looking for one of these even if it's a-"

Jesus, it was worth MAYBE $800, probably even less since it was a P1

>>
I don't get it. Why do gun shops do this? Do they think that because the hold an FFL they can literally charge whatever they want? I mean, these are all awful deals by any stretch. Nowadays it's not even difficult to go online and check fair market rates for these guns. You can buy them online and find some FFL out there somewhere to transfer it to you for a small fee. What goes charging $2000+ the price of something offer you? Do the gun shops even want to sell these guns? Do the owners refuse to acknowledge that any idiot can use his phone to get online and check the going rate for these guns?

I understand that 20 years ago, a gun shop owner MIGHT be able to trick an idiot into spending $1000+ over the actual fair value of a gun by bullshitting him or claiming things, but now there are online repositories of every stamp and mark on a gun, and its effect on the value.
>>
>>31827265
its because most people who buy from these places dont bother doing any research.
my LGS tried to sell me a cz75b for 900$. someone has likely bought that by now.
>>
>>31827265
>Do they think that because the hold an FFL they can literally charge whatever they want?

In many circumstances, they can.

I live in a military town, and the local stores know that 19 year old Charlie Freshoutofboot with an IQ of 87 will happily drop MSRP + 50% on an M4gery.

I've never actually bought a gun from a display case here. I just have one of the cheaper shops do transfers from online distributors.

You may, key word being may, be able to bring it into the US with the kind of hunting permit foreigners use to bring guns into and hunt here in the US, you would need a reservation at a hunting ground of some sort I think, because your a dualie you can probably fly it in legally for a hunt and fly back to Canada without it, at least gives you plausible deniability to cover your ass. It might be worth looking into. Then again probably not, Customs probably already has your name and number unless you proxy.
Alternatively - a few pieces at a time, mail the furniture + parts, walk the stripped barreled reciever over.

Or you can walk into middle of nowhere near Montana and throw it across

Most our gun stores are pretty shit. """""Discount""""" Guns was almost always 30% or more than everyone else. Wasn't sad to see them go out of business. Bi-mart has been hit or miss. Was desperate and had to buy a box of 7.62x39 Wolf for $20... For 20 rounds. But then saw Winchester white box 9mm selling for less than Blazer Brass. Also has an okay supply of .22lr for cheap.

Funnily the best place to buy guns I found is the pawn shop my buddy works at. Get funs at employee prices, even if they are used.

TL;DR if you live in Portland get a friend in the pawn business.

Some guy I ran into at a gunshow trying to sell the rifle his "Grandaddy carried in the big one; Iwo Jima" He said he wouldn't take anything less than 5 grand for it. Which would probably be reasonable if there was legitimate paperwork that tied it to Iwo. But this was a 5.8 million serial numbered receiver made in 1955. The country only exists as a byproduct of the political machine enforcing its borders. You want to have people from other sections of the planet show up?
Whelp ignore government. Maps show political boundaries, political boundaries encompass laws.
If you don't like it, create your own and try better, but as seen with the existing groups, natives americans, it ends poorly.
Why rightist say i have to care for people and then want government to enforce it, I don't know, You're welcome to always create your own.

Me, i like being a Marxist, much better than trying to ancap for a few minutes before going back to political systems and wondering why it doesn't work.

Save that really doesn't work as the US has representation as opposed to the military juche of DPROK or Junta of ROK.
That is, the people in the US give full and complete consent to have things as they are now, and most certainly assent to it.
As the whole adage went under the Patriot Act's early days with Pussy Riot, why don't you stay in Britain if you don't like the government so much?
Its only now with the shoe on the other foot is it okay, as made so clear in the Shean Hannity meme about same said act. Even more so as if you think its tyranous of the government, you have the whole gun claim, yt mysteriously is refused to be exercised. ANd yes it does mean if not used, you consent and agree with everything.

depends on the table. Theres this one old fudd sets up in all the gun shows in my area. He always prices his stuff at ~150% of what its worth but will always come down to around 80% retail if you know your shit. The high prices are for the dumbasses that see something neat and don't think to try haggling.

If you're at a gun show, ALWAYS haggle, and always bring cash. The random jackoffs that buy some table space will usually gladly shave off an extra $50 or so if you say you'll pay in cash.
