what do y'all think of the Ruger LCR .357 mag for EDC??
>>31818050
>plastic frame revolver
I mean, if you're into that sort of thing
>>31818050
You could make a worse choice, but you also could make a much more tasteful choice.
.t gunshop fag
>>31818050
>.357 out of a sub-2" barrel
Just get a 9mm at that point.
Are you actually going to shoot 357 mag?
not bad as long as your actually gonna carry full power .357 loads in it
if your just gonna carry .38spl might as well get a semi auto
>>31818050
Barrel is less than two inches - so RIP your ears. Also that thing is tiny and probably doesn't weigh enough to handle .357 mag very well - so RIP your wallet?
>>31818085
yes..i have it now, but haven't shot it
>>31818050
If you need a gun effective at the same range as a knife, sure why not
>>31818109
why do u say that?
>>31818103
>double action only, 11 pound trigger
>2 troy ounce revolver with magnum ammo
>2" barrel
Might as well not bother using the sights.
>>31818103
357 mag would be a lot for self defense. But you're not getting it's full potential with a snub nose either so..meh. You might as well shoot 38+p. Lower recoil and cost.
>>31818122
Because you won't hit shit at 7 yards.
>>31818050
>>31818215
>>31818215
This. Get this instead OP
>>31818050
Does that gun have no external hammer or is it just poorly shopped?
>>31818421
It's double action only
>no hair pin trigger pulls
With an internal hammer
>>31818421
?
seems like a big round for a small gun to me
>>31818050
>snub
>.357 mag
Stop
>>31818050
For being such a little light gun and shooting 357... you'll get none of the pros of 357.
Shooting the 357 out of hat thing will just create a lot of recoil and end up sending an 125 grain projectile at the same speed and weight of a normal 9mm.
Not worth it in the slightest. If you shoot 38 specials from it, you'll at least get a very reliable gun with very manageable recoil.
I'm actually happy you got the 357 version, they're more durable than the 38 version and if you ever run out of 38 you can always scavenge and use the 357 and vice versa.
>>31818050
I own one. I can't hit shit with it but it makes a nice big flash.
>>31818705
Same. For conceal carry and serious use I got my .38s loaded in it.
But when I go to the range I take some 357 to bother the guy next to me with it.
>>31818122
remember the 21 foot rule

but to answer your OP, a revolver isn't really suited for CC if it's going to be that small. and 38 special is almost the sane ballistically as 357 magnum in that short of a barrel.
>>31818682
this, 357 is only somewhat more effective (800-1000 fps vs 1000-1200 fps estimate), but has more recoil and over penetration is a real concern (>12 inches out of a 38 is definitely enough for 99% of situations)
I'll see your Rugers and your Smith 442s and raise you my Smith M&P340.
>>31818050
the .357 version has been out for years, what's new?
i've got a .38 of this. it's like 13 oz. the .357 is up to about 17oz, which i have to ask, whats the point now? it was all about light weight. a 17 oz. .357 is not what i want. i'd rather have the 19oz .44 spc. that charter arms sells. Ruger went kind of off the charts with this one.
>>31818050
get tje 327 m,agnum dude
it can shoot 32 acp for plinking. holds 6 rounds that are work better in a snugnose than 357.
>>31818050
Depends on what your preferred carry style is. I have that pistol and its a bit bulky for summer carry.
Buy the .357 for the strength of the cylinder, but carry 38 spc for much less REEEEEE. If you carry light load 38 spc, you can wheel off 3 rounds *very* quickly on target.
I own pic related.
its a 38 special, but because of the small handle, it sucks to shoot, and because of the short barrel, its not accurate either.
the combination of those elements means I cant depend on it for my carry weapon.
So instead I carry a Kimber Micro Raptor 380. Yes, the rounds are smaller, but if God forbid I ever needed to use it, I know I will hit what I am shooting at.
There's practically no benefit to carrying a 2 inch snubnose .357 magnum revolver
Barrel is too short so there is little velocity or accuracy advantage over a .38Special or a 9mm coming out the same barrel.
Recoil will be heavier with little benefit over .38 or 9mm

It fits in your pocket (please use a pocket holster though)
>>31818050
>1911 + 105
>carrying a revolver
>>31821453
Revolvers are good for little old ladies and other firearm illiterate individuals. All you have to know is: pull trigger = bang. A revolver is a good first carry gun with a little practice.
>>31821417
>It fits in your pocket
If you want to walk around everywhere looking like you have the weirdest boner, sure.
>>31821453
>carrying a revolver without a hammer
Fixed for you.
>>31821417
>fits in your pocket.
coat pocket sure, but not pants pocket. However, The Seecamp fits in the pocket of your swimming trunks
idk, what you do you think?
