I fell for the Mosin meme and bought one when they were cheap. Now they've gone up so they're not worth it, but getting a rifle for less than $150 was great. I spent like $80 for a spam can and have only used like half of the original 440.
It's my only rifle too, so it's better than nothing when it comes to home defense

I recall getting my 1982 CZ-75 Pre-B for $500. Awesome pistol, even if I find the slide to be too tiny for my big hands. That's one of the reasons why I prefer the Hi Power; the slide is easier to grab onto.

I dunno about you, but when hearing that gong ring at 300m+, it sounds amazing, and I do find it to be quite fun. Never tried shooting at that distance without resting the rifle, but I imagine it would be somewhere between incredibly difficult to impossible. Depends on the size of the gone, perhaps.

It's a half inch shorter than the Glock 19, but the grip is wider. It can take Glock 21 magazines, but the default 10rd has an extended floor plate for the pinky.

I like it, but it's bigger than the Glock 26. I carry both.

In terms of pistols, the M1911 design is better in almost every way than a Desert Eagle.

In terms of hunting, a rifle would be better.

In terms of firearms in general, an M1 Carbine is superior in almost every way, yet is only around 1-1.5lb heavier as I recall.

Even when compared to revolvers, there's give and take on both sides. I shot a Desert Eagle on ONE occasion. It was a rental at a shooting range, about 2007 or so, .44 Magnum... it was an absolute jam-o-matic. Somewhere between 2 jams per mag or 1 jam every 2 mags; it's been a long time. Even if it WAS reliable though, the matter stands, no matter what application you look at, there are other firearms that would be VASTLY superior. If you want to hunt with a magnum cartridge yet also use a silencer and you want it in a hand-held format, then maybe we've found the Desert Eagle's niche market...
