I bought a cz 75 sp01, with a decocker and no safety several years ago for about 500 new. Was looking at a cz97 (I think, what's the 45 version?) for about 700 but ended up getting a 1911 with Wilson combat internals instead. I regret it every day... Though the 1911 was only 350.

Damn my negro, I'm amazed that you found one in Cali. I'm in New Hampshire which is pretty gun friendly and it took hours of searching to find an SP-01 new. I am not aware of a single online retailer that have any in stock.

yes and no
a po1 is a specific gun but there are a shitload of pistols marked cz75d
some are essentially the exact samething as a p01 but the slides marked cz75d. they ran out of p01 marked slides so they put the slides with the d rollmark on em.
theres the old 75d like pic related where the frame is steel
theres another 75d where the frame is alloy
then some of em have safetys and others have decockers

if you buy a d you need to look at the gun in question because cz wasnt strict with that label

its never both on a cz
if you have a safety model you can carry
cocked safety on
cocked safety off
manually decocked safety off

with the decocker gun your choice is
hammer cocked or hammer decocked
