Ages ago (in highschool) I used to wear my dad's veitnam issue Jungle boots. They were still good after being so ancient. I used to buy the black version of the same boots, but in recent years they fall apart after about a month of daily wear.
I bought some Docs, because I see poor people wearing them, and I assumed that they must last because that would make them cheaper (in the long run; despite how expensive they are) than buying a new pair of boots twice a year.
It's been about a year, and I'm starting to get a hole in the leather where the toes bend. Realized that docs are just meme boots. Buyer's remorse.
Work in a warehouse and often have to kick crates and things to open or close them.
Just looking for some boots that will last more than one year.

If you dont mind a break in process of about 2 weeks red wing makes a great boot model 4473.
Its American made resoleable puncture resistant and can have a zipper kit installed.

Part of your problem might be letting the leather dry out. Put some polish on them every once in a while, or maybe some leather oil to keep them soft.

What the fuck are you talking about? Poor people wear timberlands too, which are 2x more expensive than your basic docs. So are timberlands shit? No it means poor people suck with money.
Every single pair of doc martens I've ever bought, from vintage to new takes it like a champ.
