1940 BSA, metal finish is original and pretty nice. Wood finish is nice, but might not be original - I honestly don't know for sure. Probably an arsenal refurb as it totally lacks serial numbers anywhere but the receiver, barrel, and a scratched-out one on the bolt. It headspaces and functions fine, though.
Retains the old magazine cutoff (these were briefly re-added around the start of WWII, before being deleted again). I'm reasonably certain that it was drilled and tapped for a No.32 optic during the war, but I can't prove that. Rifle comes with a Wilkinson P-1907 bayonet and scabbard.
