Hey /k/. Just finished my first AR build and I thought id share it with you.
Here it goes (be nice please)
> spikes tactical upper and lower
> nickel boron trigger group
> KNS anti walk trigger pins
> Wilson combat bolt catch
> magpul ctr stock and moe grip
> white oak .223 wylde match grade barrel
> triangle shoooting (rolling thunder) muzzel brake
> slr 15" keymod freefloat handguard
> fail zero nickel boron BCG
> magpul mbus pro f/r sights
> bcm charging handle
> mi end plate sling adapter

Now its time for accessories. I have two things in mind
> 6"-9" tacshield bipod
> barska 3-9x42mm ir optic
Will probably pick those up tomorrow from my lgs.

So what do you guys think?
>>

>KNS anti walk trigger pins

>triangle shoooting (rolling thunder) muzzel brake
Raised-truck tier douchebaggery to everyone else at the firing line
>nickel boron BCG

barska is shit, get a nicer american-made optic
>>

What would you have suggested instead.
>>
>>31800926
Looking for a budget mid range optic. Anything you can think of withing $250?
>>
>>31800880
gg anon
I personally don't like anything shiny and chrome on my rifles
But any reason why you went with keymod?
I'm trying to decide for my own AR
>>
>>31800880
Please explain you chose thatmuzzle brake?
>>
>anti walk pins on a semi auto
>Dat abomination of a barrel
>Dat bolt catch
>Spikes

Meh, 6/10, you could have done a lot worse
>>
>>31800942
Lightweight compared to full picatinny. Im sure m-lok would achieve the same thing but I just preffered keymod.
>>
>>31800947
Recoil mitigation. I also have my own range in the woods so its not like im going to be pissing random people off.
>>31800950
Abomination of a barrel? Explain.
>>
>>31800880
WOA makes good barrels. my main critism is you should have waited to get your optic and then pulled foam for it. it looks like whatever optic you put on it going to hit the edge of the case
>but its pluck and pull, i can put it back
i know, but still, you should have planned more first.
i wouldnt have picked a lot of the same components, optics included, but as long as youre happy
>>
>>31800931
Could recommend a number of things depending on budget, but as an example Aero Precision is quality, inexpensive, and not meme-tier.

I read the OP. WOA is a great barrel, I thought it was one of those one piece with the muzzle device milled into it.
>>
>>31801058
Have fun dealing with recoil that is easily mitigated to less than a .22
>>31801062
Oh okay

Op here. I also picked this up for shits and giggles.
>>
>>31801146
one option is to put the foam you pulled back in, plan and repull the foam for your stuff. then get something like 3m adhesive spray and spray down the back. once it dires, itll hold the shape much better.
in any case OP, enjoy your rifle. its a fun addiction
>>
>>31801180
Thank you. I always regret making a thread on here about a gun I buy because the last 2 times gave me terrible buyers remorse. I was starting to feel really shitty till you came along. Thabks again.

>Spent at least $1000 on his rifle
>Wants to put a fucking $100 Barfka scope on it
><<I don't understand>>

If there's three things you don't cheap out on for your rifle, it's your barrel, trigger and optic.
Do youself a favor and get a good scope. Nikon being the absolute bottom in terms of acceptable quality.
If you want a ""combat"" rifle, get a 1-4x scope, either Vortex or Leupold and Trijicon make a good one. If you want a range queen go for a 3-9 or higher. Expect to spend at least $450+ on a scope and mount that you won't instantly regret.
>>
>>31801212
It could be worse. You could be like me. A nofuns.
>>
>>31801357
Thanks for the advice. I know nothing about optics. Any more information I should kknow?
>>
>>31800880
Buy a nice trigger. That barrel is top of the line and will easily shoot sub MOA if you do your part.
>>
Great, now you need a trip and to fuck off to /arg/

opticsthoughts.com
Read and learn, he has advice for every budget and reviews stuff extensively. He also has a special AR-specific post although it's a couple years dated it's still mostly accurate.

Honestly you should be paying, MINIMUM, half the cost of your rifle on your optic. More like the same price really.
>>
>>31801585
I could actually afford the ammo to, just like I can afford proper optics and a gun case lmao. Go home Trumpkin.
>>
>>31801552
>BCM or nothing
Enjoy your rail that's so easily broken that it can't even take a bump against a wooden support pillar without bending.

>>31801494
High-price optics may seem like a meme, but buying a quality brand optic isn't.
What you're paying for is three things: glass quality, body build and service.
For example, Leupold's VX-3 line has very good glass coating that help with light transmission and durability, but you're paying like $420 for a scope. In addition, you have lifetime service, CDS dial options and custom shop availability if you want a different crosshair. You won't get that benefit with a Barska.

In short, spend big and spend right on your scope, if you find something, make a thread here and get approval or boipussy raping.
There's a good sheet in the sticky you should read on scopes too.

i pretty much agree that with optics you get what you pay for with extremely diminishing returns at the upper end.

OP if your budget is $250 and it's for a red dot, look at a primary arms optic, or a c-more or something. those are inexpensive and pretty good quality. a hakko panorama-3 is good too.

I was thinking about posting this in /arg/ but I read through a little bit of the thread and it didnt seem like they actually discuss firearms at all.
>>31801361
...you do have a point...
>>
>>31801724
Dude, you did really good on your build. That barrel is fucking best in the world, you literally cannot buy a better barrel, and thats the most important part of the rifle.
>inb4 autists argue semantics

All you need is a nice trigger and some glass and you're gravy.

>>>31801527
>I was thinking about posting this in /arg/ but I read through a little bit of the thread and it didnt seem like they actually discuss firearms at all.

Lmao thats the fuckin truth.
>>
>>31801724
you can get an ok optic for not too much more than $250

vortex makes a few red dots under $250 and the quality is decent with an excellent warranty. a memer may say just save up and get an aimpoint pro but you can spend less than half the money getting a red dot that is decent to see if you like red dots and can always be put on another gun when you upgrade from it.
>>
>>31801724
>I was thinking about posting this in /arg/ but I read through a little bit of the thread and it didnt seem like they actually discuss firearms at all.
They mostly suck each other off.
>>
>>31801166
Nice OP, is it Walther or Spriewerk?
>>
>>31801758
Nice trigger? Ive heard a lot about gisselle triggers but whats so special?
>>31801775
Im looking for something with magnification. I have really shitty eyesight.
>>
>>31800908
Nothing wrong with Spikes if it's their normal shit.
Only the stuff with skulls or Spartans are meme-tier.
>>
>>31801823
Walther. Made in 81 so no collectors value but its such an interesting action
>>
>>31801889
you can get a good fixed power scope from SWFA for $300 or for a bit more their 3-9x when it goes on sale

if you want a low power variable there are some like the burris mtac, vortex, swfa, etc that are decent.
>>
>>31801944
Ill look into these.
>>
>>31800880
how much does it weigh?

shoulda got a better handle, lighter upper, the compensator looks lame IMO.

otherwise ok
>>
>>31801905
Yeah i agree, it will be an awesome shooter.
