Essentially sitting on your ass all day "hurry up and waiting" If you have a cunt of a driver or any of the crew it'll be hell on earth.
>>
>>31795190
You're basically an armed delivery man.
Worked at Starbucks for a few months and I got to talking with those guys sometimes.
He said it was always uneventful. He just showed up, manager got the money, sing some shit and move on.
>>
>>31795190
my uncle used to do it, he said its was really shitty. not just because when he did it there was always an incident or two a year of a car getting targeted and getting shot at but just because of the abuse itll have on your body

I was thinking about doing it. Made it a point to talk to them when I could, and not seem crazy.

Every single one of them has said the following things:

1). The Trucks are awful. Most of them are in a state of disrepair. AC likely doesn't work and no windows for you.
2). Haha, free samples?
3). Trucks are in REALLY bad state. A few of them even mentioned how the dash is falling off. Breaks practically don't work, or even the floor rotting out.
4). Haha, free samples?
5). Boring as fuck.
6). Haha, free samples?
7). Shit pay.
8). There is a bigger chance of you dying from a bad truck than being robbed by Jamal.
9). Shitty deadlines.
10). Haha, free samples?

I hate sitting at my job as a gun salesman at a national retailer when the armed guard comes and gets cash out of our safe. He gets to open carry every day and I don't but he wears a NE Patriots hat so... I guess it could be worse.
Wouldn't mind doing that instead of selling shotguns to scared old people.

Armored Car guard here. As has already been said, you are essentially armed FedEx. Nothing ever happens. Upsides are that you (and your driver, if you have one) are basically on your own all day and have a lot of freedom in deciding how you'd like to get things done, as long as they get done. If your supervisor or manager want to get a hold of you they have to call. Also, in general, the trucks really are in a shitty state.

>>31795351
There are guy's making over $18-20. Most are $12-14. Some guy's making $13 are making 50k/y. You can work pretty much as many hours as you want.

>>31796535
There are a lot of dumbasses who do the job. Turnover rates pretty high too but thats due to the high-stress of a delivery job (while getting paid less than Fedex) NOT due to the trucks, theft, robbery's, ect...

>>31796592
No. Don't even think about it. You will get shot. The more elaborate your plan is the more likely you are to get shot.

>>31796656
Pretty much this. It's easy if you just don't care about the little things and take your time to just do your job. Job isn't bad if you do what you need to do and don't let the bullshit get to you.

Also story time
>pull up to stop
>partner (older experienced guy) is getting the order ready
>guy right in front of truck on sidewalk is talking to himself
>this place has been robbed a lot but he just looks crazy
>he's holding a book or some shit, clearly not a gun
>he notices us and starts pointing/yelling
>I ignore him like I do everybody else
>partner gets ready
>open door
>partner hops out
>dude makes a beeline and comes around the door
>book or whatever pointed at partners head about 6" away
>partner only sees this in peripheral
>recoils, pulls money close to chest, immediately grabs his gun and presses retention release
>turns to face the guy and realizes it's not a gun
>tells him to fuck off

I don't think that guy realized how close he came to getting shot. I don't open the door in bad areas when someones that close anymore...
>>
Do they just hire whoever? Or do you need prior experience?
>>
>>31796709
Do you have a pulse, drivers license, and no felony or record of theft?

Congratulations on your job. Try not to wreck a truck.
>>
>>31796714
Is it legit that easy? Because $12-14 an hour for sitting on my ass ain't that bad.
>>
>>31796725
Yeah. It's that easy. They'll have you do other stuff like a DOT physical but they won't turn you down without any serious criminal record.

And it's $12-$14 of sitting around as the driver but it's 9-15 hour day's and once you start delivering money you will have to walk and carry shit. But by then you will want to leave the truck and do literally anything but sit around.
>>
>>31795443
Excellent guess.

I did it in Springfield, MA. Quit earlier this year.
>>
>>31796693
Do these places like Garda give you an allowance for body armor or do you have to buy that shit yourself?
>>
>>31797909
My branch, you had to buy it yourself.

Have fun wearing that and the uniform when the A/C in the truck eventually breaks in July.

Pic related was our branch high score inside the truck.
>>
>>31797927
Holy shit, how are you even breathing there?
Hell, if I was an armor car guard, i'd even volunteer to fix the AC for them for free than suffer in that heat
>>
>>31797991
You can barely breathe, I almost passed out a few times due to heat exhaustion. they dont HAVE to have the A/C fixed, they just need to say all trucks made after 2006 have A/C capabilities. As far as I understood.

There was a reason why I quit before my second summer. That was one of them.
>>
>>31797927

>i'd even volunteer to fix the AC for them for free than suffer in that heat

^my thoughts exactly, fix that fucking shit yourself
>>
>>31798760
>>31797991
The problem is, you won't have the tools or money to buy the parts. The mechanics are overworked and from what I remember they would be sent off to buy parts with the company card, only to have the card declined at the parts shop for lack of funds.

Let alone the time to do it.

Also. The A/C units in the back hardly worked. They maybe dropped the to by 5 degrees fahrenheit. 10 if you were lucky and it wasn't humid out.
>>
>>31798462
Negative. They'll pay to train you and get you your guard card.

>>31797927
Look! They actually know the temperature in their trucks! Look at those guy's in their nice fancy Trucks and laugh!
>>
>>31800846
They'll tell you they'll reimburse you for getting your training and acquiring any licenses.

Then not pay you at all.

>fancy E-350s with a steel box slapped on the back with leaf spring suspension.

>>
>>31798802
were you at least able to bring a cooler full of ice?
>>
Just be a UPS temp worker, they'll pay for your schooling/etc if you work a decent number of hours a week. Alternatively be a driver and make dosh, up at $33/hr!
>>
>>31801004
This. UPS makes 3X as much as armored car guards.

On that note anybody know anything about being a P.I.? The average pay in my area is pretty good (much higher than joining LE) and it's not hard to get a license and firearms endorsement? Plus, catching cheating wives and taking lewd pictures of them and doing civil investigations seems like an easy job.
>>
>>31800891
I dont know what good that would have done.

Probably melted by 10am.

The floor of the truck radiates all the heat from the asphalt, transmission and driveshaft.
>>

Literally the easiest job ever. I did this part time through college. Started lifting weights, hitting the gym, etc. and figured it would be easy. You sit there in front of monitors (or a door) and basically twittle your thumbs for 6 hours until someone else comes and does it. Night shift is even easier because there aren't any people to ask you for directions.

Best part? If there's no camera or supervisor watching you, you're basically on your phone shitposting for 6 hours a day. Easiest job in the world.

My dad had this job in the early 80s before he started med school. He said it kinda sucked because sometimes you would have to sit in this truck while the truck sat halfway down an elevator for like 8 hours for security check things. He also said he really didn't like their policy on what to do if the truck is robbed. The security people in the van had full-auto submachine guns and, in the event of a robbery, they were supposed to stick the gun out the hole in the wall and just fire. He asked 'What about bystanders?' and was told it didn't matter and to just empty the magazine out the door.

Yes. They all have machine guns on the trucks and grenades. Also the trucks have panic alarms that go directly to the police. And cameras with biometric sensors. And smoke bombs that trail smoke to mask the vehicle. And explosive ammunition. And 20mm guns on the trucks. And we all have armor that can stop tank rounds. And we are all for operators. And we can shoot at will.

Every time in these threads I see talk of the poor state of these trucks, having to supply your own fucking firearms and body armor, and the shitty money jokes by people who think they're the first person to make them.

Tell me, just how fucking easy is it to rob these things?
>>
>>31803032
Depends but generally pretty difficult. Don't even think about it though. The guards are retarded and can't into ROE's and will absolutely shoot an unarmed robber in the back. Plus there's people in each company who full time think of how to prevent a robbery. Plus it's immediately an FBI and federal investigation.

Either drink less or stay off /k/. You best hope the other anon was joking because if he actually robs a truck and says he got the idea from here you just got implicated. You work security. Actual security. In a job with the highest risk of death besides bar bouncers in the industry. Keep the shit about robbing us or procedures to yourself. Because they have a very high turnover rate, because, surprise surprise, the jobs are shit and the pay is shit.

You get the desperate people fresh out of law enforcement school trying to make some money to pay off their loans and getting firearm carrying experience so it looks better on their resume, or the former military that never got to shoot someone and this is their last desperate attempt to do that since they can't enlist anymore.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet...

I did this for about a year and it completely ruins every restaurant ever for you. I mean even without the experience of going in the back, you know all of these places are fucking filthy, but seeing it for yourself takes it to the next level.

Every Outback Steakhouse we picked up from was always the filthiest kitchen ever. A McDonalds in the in middle of the ghetto could be guaranteed to be cleaner

Also early on when I started and was doing training and watching a guy show me how to do an ATM, a guy walked up behind us, held up his fingers like guns and told us to 'stick em up', then chuckled.

If he did that to one of our trigger happy hoppers and not our resident thunder fudd, I would have had front row seats to someone getting mag dumped.

That would have been my greatest day.

Oh god this.
I went to a Ruby Tuesdays and almost ate shit in the kitchen from slipping on the grease, I tracked it all the way into the truck, is was about as worse as stepping in diesel fuel. However McDonald's was surprisingly not as bad.
>>

>>
>>31803657
Shoulda drawn down or put your hands over your head. Guy would have shit his pants. And easily coulda charged that guy with attempted robbery or something. Saying "stick em up" with your fingers pointed that way goes beyond making a joke and into "actual robbery attempt" territory.

If you were on the truck I hope you hit the fucking sirens at least.
>>
>>31803688
I read his posts in the archive and there's nothing in there that anybody couldn't figure out on their own.

$12/hr employees are not willing to fight to the death to protect someone else's money. If they shoot someone it's because they got excited or thought their life was in danger, not the money. Obvious

The trucks are shit and can easily be penetrated by the appropriate rifle rounds, especially windows. Obvious

What's the big deal?
>>
>>31803719
I was outside the truck at the ATM as the guy instructed me how to work on the ATM.

The instructor just gave him some dismissing look and the guy then walked into the bathroom after chuckling some more.
Then he left, walked over to a shelf near where we were working, pretended to browse while peeking at us.

Yeah, I'd have at minimum reported that shit to HQ. At maximum I'd draw and turn if I wasn't facing him as he did it. That would take the situation from 0-100 real fast but honestly Guards have been shot by guy's coming up behind them that way so it's completely justified. Or I'd say "PLEASE DON'T SHOOT SIR!" loud as fuck so people look at me while I put my hands up. Police would be there in minutes and the guy would be in cuffs.

>>31803754
A. Legally there are things he cannot say especially in regards to amount of $$$. He signed an NDA but probably doesn't remember that.

B. He laid it out in a way that makes it seem like the trucks are easy to rob.

C. He gave info out that isn't super easy to just look up. And if someone did look it up there would be a way for the FBI to find out "Hey, he looked up can X pierce armor" but the retarded anon made that easy.

Long story short he posted exactly what you don't post. We've been robbed after bar conversations before. Posting actual info about security procedures online is pants on head retarded.

My conclusion after reading this thread and even before looking up the deleted posts was that these companies are totally an illusion of security and you'd be better off sending your money in the back of a pickup truck.

C. Nobody who knows anything about guns and armor would look at one of those vehicles and assume they were rated on the doors and windows for full rifle calibers.

I worked in a CA branch of dunbar...most of what people are saying is correct, every day all you do is sit on your ass, luckily my branch had "newer" trucks with perfectly functional AC/heat so it was never that intolerable, if you were unlucky enough to have your truck down and had to swap out for "coin truck" aka the shittest truck in the fleet, you'd have a pretty rough long day, most days you just sit, listen to music and go about the day. My partner and I used to get free shit all the time, granted you needed to build a relationship with those stops..but we could get roughly 2-3 free Starbucks and a chipotle burrito or wendy's burger almost any given day..it just gets real old real quick. do people eyeball you all the time? yes. Do people go ape shit when you park behind their car because you literally have nowhere else to go? yes. Is it annoying that most places have a "supervisor" who can't do shit when we come? absolutely...and you grow to resent them with a passion as you know they can do nothing with the safes but you have to stand there waiting for the manager like a dumb ass to finish what their doing to come by and assist with opening the safe...my branch reimbursed up to a certain amount for body armor so that was nice...as for the biggest question, is it an easy job? yes just don't crash into shit and it's an easy paycheck.

Nobody who knows anything about guns or armor tends to rob the truck because they like having guns and not getting assfucked by Jamal. But guess what, Jamal lurking on his fucking motorola Razr from 2004 can look at that and go "Mayne, dat means I can rob dat shit and not get killed. Sheeeit, I'm doin that tomorrow."

Plus, it's not an illusion. We have real guns, real armor, real procedures, and real cameras. Sure, some guy's rob them and get away and use stuff that will kill the guards. But the FBI tends to catch them. The entire point is to prevent huge losses and to statistically keep the money safe. For when a robbery is successful...you may be smarter or have better gear than the company and guards but you won't outsmart/outgear the feds. It's NOT easy to just get free money and never get caught and I could easily tell you why in regards to things you CANNOT lookup but I won't because I actually know how to keep important shit off the internet.

>On December 11, at 3:12 a.m., when cargo agent Kerry Whalen returned from making a transfer at American Airlines, he spotted a black Ford Econoline van backed into the ramp door. Whalen walked toward the van to investigate, and two men without masks or gloves brutally struck him over the head with pistols. Whalen had his navy hat pulled down to his chin and was thrown into the van, where a third robber was waiting. Another person took his wallet and said that they knew where his family was and they had others ready to visit them. Whalen nodded to indicate that he would cooperate with the robbers. But later, when the investigators showed Whalen a series of police archive photos, he positively identified Angelo Sepe as the perpetrator who had bludgeoned him on the scalp.

>Senior agent Rolf Rebmann heard a noise by the loading ramp and went to investigate. Six armed, masked robbers forced their way in and handcuffed him. They then used a key provided by Werner and walked through a maze of corridors to round up the two other employees. That accomplished, two gunmen ventured downstairs to look for unexpected visitors. The other robbers marched the employees to a lunch room, where the other employees were on a 3 a.m. break
>>
>>31804884
>The gunmen burst into the lunch room brandishing their firearms. They showed a bloodied Whalen as an indication of their intentions if anyone got out of line. They knew each employee by name and forced them onto the ground. They made John Murray, the terminal's senior cargo agent, call Rudi Eirich on the intercom. The robbers knew that Eirich was the only guard that night who knew the right combination to open the double-door vault. Murray was made to pretend to Eirich that there was a problem with a load from Frankfurt, and he told Eirich to meet him in the cafeteria. As Eirich approached the cafeteria, he was met by two shotguns and saw the other employees bound and gagged on the cafeteria floor. One gunman kept watch over the ten employees, and the other three took Eirich at gunpoint down two flights of stairs to the double-door vault.

>Eirich later reported that the robbers were informed and knew all about the safety systems in the vault, including the double-door system, whereby one door must be shut in order for the other one to be opened without activating the alarm. The robbers ordered Eirich to open up the first door to a 10-by-20-foot room. They knew that, if he opened the second door, he would activate an alarm to the Port Authority Police unit at the airport. Once inside, they ordered Eirich to lie on the ground and began sifting through invoices and freight manifests to determine which parcels they wanted from among the many similarly wrapped ones.
>>
>>31804902
>Finally, they began hurling parcels of cash through the door. Around 40 parcels were removed. Eirich was then made to lock the inner door before unlocking the outer door. Two of the gunmen were assigned to load the parcels into the van while the others tied up Eirich. The employees were told not to call the Port Authority until 4:30 a.m. When the robbers left, it was 4:16 a.m. According to the cafeteria clock, no calls were made until 4:30, when a report of the theft was made. This 15-minute buffer was crucial because Werner's inside information made the robbers aware that the Port Authority Police could seal off the entire airport within 90 seconds.

>At 4:21 a.m., the van containing the robbers and the stolen cash pulled out of the cargo terminal and left JFK, followed by the crash car. The robbery took only 64 minutes and was the largest money heist ever committed on American soil at the time.

£53,116,760 Heist.

>The manager of the depot, Colin Dixon, was abducted at about 18:30 on 21 February 2006, while driving his silver Nissan Almera. He was pulled over on the A249 just outside Stockbury, a village north east of Maidstone, by what he thought was an unmarked police vehicle, due to the blue lights behind the front grill.[3] A man approached him in high-visibility clothing and a police-style hat. The manager proceeded to get into the police impostor's car, thinking that he was a police officer, where he was then handcuffed by others in the vehicle. He was then driven west on the M20 motorway to the West Malling bypass, where he was bound further, transferred into a white van and transported to a farm in Staplehurst, Kent. As this was taking place, the manager's wife and eight-year-old son were being held hostage at their home in Herne Bay, after they answered the door to men dressed in police uniforms, who falsely informed them that the manager had been involved in a road traffic accident. They were then driven to the farm at which the manager was being held, where he was told, at gunpoint, that failure to co-operate could put him and his family in danger.

>The depot manager, his wife and son were taken to the Securitas depot in Tonbridge at around 01:00, travelling in a plain white van, being held at gunpoint. At the depot, 14 members of staff were bound by robbers armed with handguns, shotguns, a Škorpion and AK-47s and wearing balaclavas.

>The robbery came to an end at approximately 02:45. The staff, along with Mr Dixon's wife and son, were left locked in cash cages. However, one member of staff had a key to unlock the cage she was locked in; she was then able to free the others. It was still another half an hour before staff members, who had been tied up, managed to raise the alarm.[5] Police officers arriving on the scene discovered staff, the manager and his family all bound, but physically unharmed.

That's why you make friends with the right people who know people you don't know but can still trust and rely on. In other words, someone you have zero connections with but you know they're is legit.

You can't rat someone out of all they know is your nickname was "Austimo".

I love Goodfellas! I know this was the Lufthansa heist too, good stuff

On that note, gotta love how the robbery from >>31804884 went to shit:

>Edwards was supposed to take the van used in the robbery to a car compactor in New Jersey to have it destroyed; instead, jubilant from the gang's easy heist, he smoked some marijuana while en route to the junkyard. He then drove the van to his girlfriend's apartment, conspicuously parked it in a no-parking zone, and spent the evening getting drunk and snorting cocaine, apparently intending to deliver the van to the junkyard the next day.

Fucking criminals, man.

If you are going to be a criminal do not be lazy, crazy, or stupid and you will go far.

Nigga, I worked there for a while.

I thought about it every fucking day, don't tell me you haven't. Your branch may be full of good employees and high security.

My branch was full of fucking washouts. I know where the routes go and which ones are worthwhile.

I also know its not worth the effort to put these people through that kind of shit, and I know I can't kill for money. Which is why I wont do it.
