OK, /k/. I'm looking for something to use as a lightweight rifle/range bag, and I'd like to to not be huge and scream "I HAVE A GUN IN ME". It'd be mainly used for a grab-and-go range bag, or BLM hiking bag, holding a taken down AR15 or similar, a couple magazines, and maybe some water/lunch. I've looked at the Noveske Discreet and the Sneaky(breeki) bags Covert Rifle bag, but neither is really what I want, and nothing else is really fitting the bill. What are some good, discreet rifle backpacks?

Guitar case
Violin case for pistols

>Guitar case
This. My dream.
Except I have two left hands, so I'm not feeling super motivated to carve the foam shapes.
>>31794561
I use a blackhawk "diversion" racquet bag. Has internal divider for AR upper and lower
>>31794689
The question is: does having a guitar carrying case make you look like someone who wants to be discrete or some tryhard cool dude?
>>31794696
>mfw left handed
>>31794689
Yeah, I'm not hiking around in the god damn woods with a guitar case.
>>31794698
similar issue, although less retarded than carrying around a guitar case in the woods.
Ideally, I'd like something that literally is just a normally (or close) sized backpack that I can pop my rifle in, with some restraints or something to hold it in place.

A note about these kinds of bags.
Anyone can look up "discreet rifle cases" and see the same shit you're considering, therefore knowing if they see one in public its probably a rifle case. If you want to be truly discreet your only option is to refit something that wasnt originally made for firearms.
>>31794717
I might have to move to a city after college and might use pic related to low key move my AR/range shit.
>>31794742
The "discreet" part of the equation is less that I want to completely hide the fact that I have a rifle and more that I don't want some noguns fuck I might happen across while out for a day hike to freak out. This is California, nobody here who cares about someone with a gun in the sticks is going to know what a discreet rifle bag looks like.
>>31794755
About to pick up a 15$ used hard guitar case tomorrow, gonna stuff that bad boy with some foam.
>>31794763
Oh gotchya. I just thought id point it out.
thinking about this.
but now will I be a target for thieves that wanna make sweet neo-retro synth music?
>>31794825
it even has a mag pouch on it
A giant cross covered in a white tablecloth.
>>31794825
Upside: You can unfold the case into a shooter's mat.
Downside: It's fuckin' huge. no way I'm tramping about in the bush with some of this shit.
>>31794788
>guitar case
Desperado mode, nice. Hope it turns out well, anon.
>>31794846
You fucking autist. Using a bag like that is for transporting funs discreetly in liberal infested areas. If you are out in the bush then get a dedicated gun bag. Fuck.
In case you haven't noticed people don't carry around rifle sized bags period. You can beat around the bush but you are abnormal regardless of what you use. The only thing you can do is put a take down rifle in a normal backpack.
I use either a Wilson tennis racket bag or a surplus M60 barrel bag for my guns with folding stocks. When using the tennis racket bag I'll also bring a mesh bag of tennis balls to help sell that it actually is a tennis racket in the bag.
>>31794896
reminds me of the dude I saw recently carrying a sports duffle bag into the park. it was so obvious and he was trying to act non nonchalant and shit but in reality it just came off as sketchy. if he just acted like he belonged no one would give a fuck but instead people are worried about some weirdo in the woods with a gun.
31794887
Getting a 'normal backpack' and stuffing a taken down rifle is exactly what I'm trying to do, I'd just like some internal restraints or shit to keep it from knocking about all loosey-goosey.
>>31794940
most normie fag backpacks have padded panels in them for laptops and/or iPads. the trick is that most are too small to full conceal a 16" upper
>>31794959
This is precisely my problem! And the Noveske Discreet is a whopping 28 inches tall, which I mean, I *guess* would work, but ugh.
>>31794972
I imagining hiking companies would have larger packs. Columbia, North Face... they would be about $100+
Most larger packs are about 19 inches high but that's external dimensions. maybe a 16" upper would fit if your muzzle device isn't too long

5.11 makes some good bags and many don't look at all tacticool. A friend of mine uses one for his Red Cross go bag.
Even if you don't like the bags, they make good internal pouches and accessories that would make fitting another bag easier.
>>31794835
This nigga...
>>31794561
I use a UTG alpha discrete bag. It's inexpensive and surprisingly good quality. The 34 inch model conceals my 308 16in precision gun with the stock collapsed, and can just barely get a 14.5 with a pinned FH with the stock all the way out. Plus mags, and various shit.
Normies don't know it's a rifle bag. If anyone asks tell them it's your vape or pokemons or dragon dildo or whatever the normie fags are into these days.
>>31794742
>Anyone can look up "discreet rifle cases" and see the same shit you're considering, therefore knowing if they see one in public its probably a rifle case. If you want to be truly discreet your only option is to refit something that wasnt originally made for firearms.
Cops will be able to spot a discreet firearms bag from a mile away, but non-woke normies won't know what's in it. That said, you are right that something like a guitar bag or semi-rigid guitar case is ideal. Preferably an actual guitar case, and NOT one like pic related which is in a military color and has molle webbing.
>>31795240
Not really what I'm looking for; this isn't for like, having it super easy to access. I'm OK with having the rifle taken down. Like I mentioned above, I just want something small that can carry the rifle, some ammo, and lunch.

Nice. Don't have a folding one on mine so I need something bigger. Maybe in the future I'll get it plus a tennis bag.

If you're in the bush, why not just sling the rifle on your shoulder?
>>31794561
Just get a real backpacking bag, you'll have room for anything and it's comfortable to carry weight all day.
>>31794742
Until it got destroyed by my friend's pupper I used to use a $15 wilson tennis racquet bag to carry my AR pistol around. It was bright red and had the wilson cursive logo in white. It wasn't much for storage space but I usually had a gym bag with me full of mags and accessories. I could fit 3 mags in the little side pocket and one in the actual lower.
as someone from a stranger land than /k/ none of you are hiding anything with these backpacks. anyone who isnt blind knows you have a gun in there
