If you want a serious answer, feels strange man. Most of the media I grew up with purports the american dream, society and all the ideals of american life etc and it always felt so strange and different to my culture (I'm english.) There was a moment yesterday where someone was talking about how a guy blew his finger off at the range and so he got a helicopter medivac and that struck me as bizarre, because over here the chopper only turns up if it's life or death, but of course america is a lot bigger place and he was probably in the middle of bumfucknowhere and you've got a lot more resources than we do. It's a depressing place to live, everyone lives in tiny apartments, the food fucks up western stomachs and most people are psychotic workaholics, everything is cramped, crammed and stuffed, the population is slightly smaller than the UK but with less than half the landmass so pollution in places like Seoul is insane.

My wife and two daughters are happy but we live in an apartment that's 200 square feet and it costs roughly $750 USD a month, if I didn't make $75,000 a year to work here I would go back to the US with or without my girls.

Well, there are some nice things about Australia. Being an Australian is nice as well, we have a good reputation wherever I've been. I've never had to worry about things like work, jobs are easy to get. I've been able to just drop into mental health facilities and get treatment no-questions-asked, which is a lifesaver.

We're far too over-regulated though. Land prices and house prices are insanely expensive, too. I'm extremely jealous of America's dirt-cheap land prices. Our higher wages do make up for the extra expenses of every-day life, like food and clothes, but it doesn't make up for the larger purchases like houses and cars.

I've actually looked at where I would want to live, like where's the perfect climate for me, not too far from the cities, but still in the country, somewhere nicely wooded, and I've made a little heatmap. I actually almost have enough money to buy a rundown house and some land in this area, but there's no way I could get residency in America at the moment. I think I'd like to live there for a little while, maybe five or ten years.

Another place on my short-list is the Czech Republic. Nice and cozy, and every girl is a pornstar.

One of the reasons why I don't like West Virginia is the lack of any major cities, and the mountains would make it harder/longer to get to the cities in Virginia.

It's mostly a pipe-dream though, as my lack of qualifications means there's no way I'd be able to get any kind of visa. I'm thinking about doing an apprenticeship in metal fabrication, because from what I've seen on visa requirements around the world, it seems quicker, easier, and more straightforward than going the white collar route.

If i were to choose between the two cities to live near I would choose Pittsburgh. However Pennsylvania's citys are kind of shitholes. Our state infrastructure is terrible right now. Philadelphia is just worse rn.

The rest of the state is great. Outside the cities we are mostly conservative and most people approve of guns. Its written in our state constitution that there cannot be any registration of firearms in PA. We have some fudd hunting laws but they aren't that bad. The scenery is beautiful as well so thats a plus.

I dont know what it takes to aquire a visa but the metal manufacturing route seems like a solid choice. Pennsylvania has a great steel industry.

From what I learned while I was in the fleet is that an angled deck only accommodates a certain amount of aircraft, therefore limiting the use of the carrier.

The Nimitz-class and Ford-class carriers rely on the catapult systems to do most of the initial thrust, therefore eliminating the need for an upward-angled deck and allows a wider range of aircraft to be shoot off the carrier.

There's been a lot of work to ensure that both QEs have a high level of readiness, with a guarantee that one will always be available.

I'm not sure how they've done it exactly either, but a lot of aspects and design choices for the QEs (automation, maintenance, crewing and air complement) have been made with that in mind.

It's dependant on the ship, role, and responsibilities for active coverage. For SSBNs you need four, for example. With frigates you generally need three. With carriers and other large ships, you can manage with two for persistent coverage. Thats what all the design briefs state it is capable of too.
