I don't want to give all the details, but the short version is I'm being reclassed to a tanker and there's very little I can do about it.

hold me /gq/. Im in a bad place right now.
>>
Only gun is a lee enfield. I want some modern molle synthetic load bearing gear to go with it.

Would it be a good idea to get an RLCS and a bunch of grenade pouches to hold the .303 clips? What else do you guys put on your load bearing gear?
>>
>>31792395
I just left active duty as a Airborne 13F from the 82nd, and I'm in a Reserve Quartermaster unit as a shower laundry guy now. It could be worse.
>>
>>31792561
I think, If possible, buying a better gun should come first. Milsurp's cool, and you can certainly kill man with .303, but if an enfield's the only rifle you have, theres other things you should look at before chest rigs.

try just putting some clip pouches on your stiffest belt and adding belt keepers or tape or velcro to keep them in place

>>31792568
oh I know. it's just they've reclassed the whole unit, every other infantry unit in the state sucks and is already full, and they wont allow interstate transfers
>>
>>31792636
What state bro? Texas is pretty open, I shouldn't complain too much I guess since they offered me 10k to wash clothes and take showers lol.
>>
>>31792636
So what on earth do the fags running around with an R700 use?
>>
>>31792763
their pockets.
but there's quite a diferrence between an enfield and a remington r700. regardless who is running around with a r700?
>>
>>31792850
There was a guy last thread.

I still haven't gotten an answer about the second part:
>What else do you guys put on your load bearing gear?
>>
>>31792871
suspenders and light weight streamlined stuff I guess? I won't be posting pics of me in my gear for another 11 hrs..
>>
>>31792907
>light weight streamlined stuff

Specifically what? First aid kits, food, water, what?
>>
>>31792871
well, is it a precision set up? because that's something your enfield will never do. A fighting rig for any ww2 milsurp rifle would be really simple for me.

2 Grenade pouches, mounted to belt with clips
belt ifak
everything else should be in your pack, including a hydration bladder.

it's a cheap introduction that'll help you see if you like this stuff.
>>
Is this a good deal?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/222288252897
>>
>>31792956
do not put food on your fighting kit. that is pack and pocket stuff
>>
>>31793189
this also water is debatable but along the back of your spine is recommended. nothing more then 60oz of water should be on your actual plate carrier at a given time. at least 100oz of water in your backpack viper IFAC or like my raven tactical Ifak for medical supplies its lefty or right friendy has just enough for serious wounds but not to larger as to weigh to much....

NE fag here, what is some cheap camo that is decently effective? Do I need a camo parka/jacket as well or does just a field shirt work?
How much of a difference if not all of your gear is matching? I got a type 56 rig and a swiss m90 pack that are a solid green color that I would be using with the clothes.

Also are these combat boots any good?

https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/swedish-combat-boots-rubber-and-leather-brown-surplus/52281
>>
>>31793166
yes I have one for civilian stuff great fleece for cold or blustery climates. I overpaid for mine :/
>>
>>31793385
So basically fighting rigs should be all ammo pouches + first aid kit in the front with food and water in the pack on the back.

Any other accessories I would need?

if you wanted to you could have a multitool on your belt as a survival tool. detable flash light such as a FIRSTLIGHT flashlight. angle the flash light for flood beam below your rifle or detach it for detailed lighting. I have my gerber prodigy on my belt aswell. Radio aswell 2 7x8 plates and a front rifle plate. belt weighs in at 5.5 lbs fully loaded.

Anyone else want gear in sold colors not just because they look good but feel that you can't be seen in multicam because you feel you will look try hard and autistic? Not judging or anything,I really wish I could stomach buying it because it seems perform so much better

>>
What's with all these cheap knock-off SADF pattern 83 battle jackets on ebay? Are they garbage?
>>
>>31794356
Yes for the most part. Only buy SADF gear in Nutria with the black border if you want to be sure. There are exceptions like SADF gear in other colors, but you'd have to be an autistic collector to know them.

From experience, tactical gear can tear up a washing machine. If you DGAF (as in, you're getting out of the military and using military washers to clean), go for it.

If not, just hit it with some high pressure water. A hose and airdry is usually sufficient. If it's super dirty, get a real pressure washer or take the vest to one of those coin operated self car washes.

How am I doing? Buddy I know just got a JPC, after recent events of my buttstock flying off my shoulder straps I feel the need for one as well. All in due time, ammo is top priority lately.
>>
>>31798606
he was kinda right about the 14 mags, soldier on patrol carry at least 12 mags now because body armor add more weight.

the only people i see who are carrying less than 8 magazines are either LEO or special force in a "get in get out" type of mission

>14 mags
>13 mags

This is an abnormal amount of ammo to carry. Normal amount is 6+1 on the body. If we limit the discussion to soldiers, whom you appear to think carry so much ammo, I'll say that if they have enough room in packs to carry anything on top of their mission essential gear, they will be carrying more SAW or 240 ammo, not a buttload of personal mags.

From everything I've read, it's airshit done right. It's airsoft/blank firing weapons mixed together in a battle scenario. Seems to usually be urban combat with the battlefield occasionally being a forest or something of the like. It's hard for me to describe, so hopefully someone else can say it better.

I kinda love crye's roll up dump pouch.
>>
>>31799665
Not sure about Crye's, but I'm really impressed by BFG's dump pouch. It's so damn tiny when stored, yet it's massive and incredibly strong when unfolded. The most I've put in it so far was 8 AK74 plum mags and 3 M9A3 mags, but it still felt solid at that point.

Eh, I'm of the mindset that having water attached to your rig is a good idea. That way you will always stay hydrated. That's just me though. I know some people prefer to have your camelbak removable because it can be in the way when mounted in a vehicle. However I don't have any issues with the camelbak getting in the way. That's just my opinion though.

Agreed
Case in point. At the milsim this weekend I could have reloaded quicker had I had my belt on and dumped the old mag in the pouch instead of trying to get it back in the mag pouch. Since it took to long I couldn't return fire as they approached and died
Now I should have just dropped the mag, but since I wasn't keen on losing it I didn't
I know it was a sim, but the point stands
I learned a valuable lesson

People buy things for different reasons. I know that may be hard to understand and accept, but it does happen.

So what is the different reason?

also seriously dying at all this salt over MAS grey. why is it so hard to believe a niche color used by seals exclusively for VBSS is not a good general color for dry land operating?

Having differing preferences is that hard to understand huh? How do you function has a social being?
>dying at all this salt
>>
>>31805669
Because dry land operating covers a huge variety of environments, some of which may make MAS gray a viable option. Innawoods and innadesert may not be (this of course is also dependent on the woods and desert), but grey excels in artificial and urban environments. There of course is the argument that there is no camo to make a big difference in MOUT or innacity, but if you're buying gear on your own budget and happen to live in the city, then why not invest in grey gear?

Not that anon but Mas Grey would work well in the city I live in where color like Coyote Brown or Tan wouldn't be so effective. Also I just like how it looks tbqh and if its on sale I'll buy some.
>>
>>31805695
>differing preferences
so basically it's fetish stuff

it's cool to admit it, the more you try to bullshit about "preferences" the sadder it is. no amount of preferences will make it a better color.

>>31805717
There's a reason why the only army to go forward with grey PPE coloration switched back to real camo colors. The talk about "muh urban grey" is literally marketing. In an urban environment not everything is grey. Hell, in some cities coyote brown is just as good as grey, and ranger green is probably better than MAS grey or CB in many cities. Furthermore in an urban fighting context, camo color is of low relevance. Colors vary so wildly in US cities that anything but neon pink would blend comparably at least to a cursory glance. If you expect more than that it's time to get behind something.

>>31805741
fair enough
>>
>>31805741
The best camo for innacity is plain-clothes.
Blend in with the locals until you need your kit.
Most fighting will likely be in urban enviroments, fighting innawoods is an invitation for a drone strike via. thermal imaging.

Never owned a piece of gear in Mas Grey, don't plan to either. Nice goalpost shift as well.

I'm sad that you'll never be able to rationalize any other viewpoints other than the ones so firmly grounded in your head. You're missing out.

I use airsoft to train with my gear without being super autismo at the range in full battle rattle.
>>

So basically you can't provide any reasoning to support other positions but you just want me to take them on faith.

also where am i shifting the goalposts to?
MAS grey is generally a silly color unless you have some kind of NSW museum in your closet or you live on a boat.

How much water are you carrying? How much food?

Please get rid of that rolled up foam piece of shit dude. It is the current year.

I just bought this guy earlier in the fall. I'm very happy with it. Rolls up to the size of a fucking Nalgene.

Hey guys so I'm making a heavy battle belt with suspenders that is supposed to act as a line 1 with the capability of a light chest rig.

For magazines what do you guys think I should do:

3x3 rifle/pistol mag pouch for 3x rifle mags and 3x pistol mags, three rifle mags wide
or
2x2 rifle/pistol mag pouch and a double stack 1x1 rifle mag pouch for 4 rifle mags, 2 pistol mags, and three rifle mags wide?
>>
>>31805804
Shifting the goalposts to practicality rather than preference. Arguing how people spend their money is like finding the objectively best color in the rainbow. At the end of the day there's no clear answer and who the fuck cares?

I buy shit in Desert Night knowing full well it's not the most practical choice. I don't give a fuck, and neither should you.
>>
>>31805762
You're attraction to patterns and colors used by the military for it's historical context is a fetish as well. He gave you a pretty straightforward answer as to why some people prefer certain things; try not get triggered by it.

Also, I dont get how you're disagreeing with me here >>31805717, and then agreeing with >>31805741. We're both literally saying that grey has it's benefits given you live in the right area. This is no different than investing in over whites if I live in Alaska or buying surplus DCU's if I live in the Mojave. Just lumping all grey into the category of useless is a bit disingenuous,
>>

so basically nothing of substance? At least just say "it looks cool" if that's what you think.

I agreed with him because he said "Also I just like how it looks tbqh and if its on sale I'll buy some." I don't think it works well in most cities, or rather, I think other colors work better, as I stated before.

I wouldnt say its nothing of substance. Can you honestly say you've never bought a piece of kit because of its aesthetics? Obviously that shouldnt be end all be all, but if utilitarianism was our only drive, we would all have chicom rigs, PSA ar15's and glock 19's. That would make us Reddit.

I think its safe to say we aren't going to agree on this topic. I believe that MAS grey works well in my area; its urban, and it rains all the fucking time. Grey is a naturally muted color and works decently in different environments, but Im not trying to say that it would be the end all be all of camo.
