Just got this for my 18th birthday. Legal In my state. What's your edc and any words of advice for a first time handgun owner.

Practice.

For that you will need cheap ammo. And for that you will need:

Don't drop it. I dropped my g2 on the first day and smashed the cheap plastic rear sight.

Getting my CCL during Christmas break, or at least taking the class then filing paper work. Have a G26 in a Incog holster, I like both a lot.

Good belt, good holster.

Completely field strip that thing and clean it like a drill sergeant is going to check it the next day. Taurus packs their guns some kind of of mix of gritty grease and manufacturing residue, which I think is the reason for some of the reliability issues people complain about. Remove all that before shooting. If you're not sure about what you're doing, just go to youtube and google a millennium g2 cleaning video.

Taurus gets a lot of shit, some of it justified; but at the same time for the price, you get a lot of gun.

The ATF has been asked about the controls on firearms which also contain explosives, such as ‘flashbang’ grenades. Firearms of this type are subject to the Gun Control Act (GCA)(Title 18, U.S.C., Chapter 44), the National Firearms Act (NFA)(Title 26, U.S.C., Chapter 53), and the Federal Explosives laws (Title 18, U.S.C., Chapter 40). Provisions of the Arms Export Control Act may also apply. In both the GCA and the NFA, a firearm is defined to include a destructive device. A destructive device is further defined (in part) as:

(a) any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas (1) bomb, (2) grenade, (3) rocket having a propellant charge of more than 4 ounces, (4) missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one-quarter ounce, (5) mine, or (6) similar device;

Accordingly, this type of destructive device is not only a firearm but is also an explosive subject to all explosives regulatory provisions including specific storage, distance, licensing, and other requirements.

While there is a general exemption under the Federal explosives laws for work performed under Government contract, if you are in the business of importing, manufacturing, or dealing in explosive-type destructive devices, you will need the appropriate firearms and explosives licenses or permit and special (occupational) tax (SOT) under the NFA. If your activity is being conducted under a United States Government contract, you may apply for an exemption from the SOT.

Glorified firecracker or not, I sure as fuck don't want to be dinged for possession of a Destructive Device. Maybe that's just me.

Reusable Training Flashbangs I've seen can use a co2 canister and talc to still hit roughly 140 db and are totally legal. Since he said his is 140db, it's probably either co2 or possibly has very, very low levels of flash powders/explosives to get around the restriction and need for DD paperwork.

Or it's possible that he bought some sketchy illegal flashbangs from Gadsen preppers.

>>31783691
>TSFx Ltd

Ohh, it's the Airsoft Grenades that they sell in the UK. It's not a flashbang at all.

Only 0.5g, totally fine.

Hope you didn't pay more than $15 for it.

It's a custom rig by J.R Roscoe at shoulderholster.us
I've got another for my S&W 460V.
they're durable and comfortable but expensive and with a very long wait time.

for guns they actually make holsters sized to fit, I recommend Galco

>>
>>31784696
Surly you're merely pretending to be this dumb.
>>
>>31784681
>>31784692
>>31784696

.357 mag comes out at 164.3 dB, and 9x19 at 159.8 dB. For contrast, .223 is 155.5dB. Decibels are kind of a sliding scale and not exactly accurate given the open space around people and a shitload of other factors.

Firing 9mm without hearing pro might not be a good idea for a long term thing, but you can fire a few rounds off in self defense without your fucking ear drums rupturing and causing a movie horror scene to spill from your ears.

>>
>>31784692
>>31784703
>>31784718

It's not that they aren't debilitating (and cause long term damage), but it's the perceived myth of shit like >>31784692, where 150 dbcauses your eardrums to explode like party crackers.

Soundwaves dissipate too quickly in open air to do that. You'd need the gun right by your fucking ear.

Even the LEAF has trouble generating over 154 db in open air.

Been fucking with my 642 lately. Went from the OEM grips to Hogue Bantams and now I think I've settled on the old Uncle Mike's boot grips that used to ship with these. Also threw in an APEX kit that brought the trigger down to about 9lbs, painted my front sight orange, and sharpie'd my rear black. Bought a BobMac's SN-2 for AIWB in early September and have been carrying it in that since. I also have a Kramer pocket holster that will be here tomorrow.
