>>

For some reason it's hard to find actual Russian vodka in Canada.

Most vodkas I've seen for sale have been Polish, Scandinavian, French, and North American.

The shape is very much a ketchup bottle, but the label and contents clearly aren't ketchup.

My .22 (Marlin 795) has even less recoil than my air rifle. It's a fun little plinker, but it does feel like a toy. I've never owned a 9mm of any sort though so I can't really compare them.

You should buy an SKS instead.

Vz. 58 with the STANAG magazine adapter and XCR-L micro pistol magazines works excellent.

No failures to feed, even when going near cyclic with bump fire. The bolt catch is a bit finicky, sometimes it doesn't engage on some of the magazines. I think my bolt catch might need a bit of lube.

The other gremlin is that when a fresh magazine is inserted after the BHO is engaged, the BHO won't disengage fully. The BHO catches on a little lip of metal. If magazines are inserted while the bolt is closed, this does not happen.

How the heck do you take the safety off a DA Outlaw? On the other side I can see the bottom of a threaded stud, I don't know how the safety switch is attached to the stud, I've tried twisting it either direction to see if it's threaded on and I've tried shimmying it out with flatheads.
I'm trying to fix this shoddy piece of shit, the safety does not work with the top and bottom receiver screws tightened. The safety works without the screws so I'm thinking when I tighten them it binds it up somehow and the safety doesn't stay in place. Without the screws and the side plates off I can see how the safety pushes a block on top of the trigger blocks inside. This piece of crap is not worth taking to a gunsmith, I just want to hear from someone if they have this same shotgun

moleman only likes heavy things. it's his way of blending in with sunbacks. moleman needs to weigh under 80 pounds to fit through his tunnels, so when outside he just piles on the gear until he weighs 200 pounds like a normal man.

>Filling out PAL form
>Two references from people I have known for three years who aren't my conjugal partner
>Most of the people I have known for three years have moved away / can't readily get a signature from them
>The rest are anti gun faggots

Crap, what do? I keep up with most of my friends online because they're out of province. I don't want to use my parents because they're antsy around guns, and I don't want to use my brother because I'm pretty sure he has a criminal record. I'm pretty sure my roommate would be good for one. Not sure I like the idea of going into my old workplace and asking someone to reference me to get a gun.
>>
>>31782365
>this same retarded argument that applies to gunfights
if you bring your dick to a knife fight you get stabbed in the dick

it's only a "knife fight" if you both have knives. you can't control if he has a knife but you can control if you have a knife. the baton is a great idea but since you should always carry a knife anyway, you might as well use it if you have one. baton for reach, knife for knifing

he's a game for you:
he knife, you no knife = bad
he no knife, you no knife = equal
he knife, you knife = equal
he no knife, you knife = good

basic logic proves that knives are a sensible choice, and that's why they were carried for thousands of years
>>
>>31782430
mail the signature sheet to them

the RCMP just calls them to see if they're legit and asks if you're ok. don't stress about it. where does it say that they can't have a criminal record? I guess you might not want the RCMP to know that you associate with convicts.
>>
>>31782435

If you get into a struggle with someone and you're trying to stab them, you're probably going to cut the shit out of yourself as well. I carry a knife for knife shit but it's the last thing I'd want to rely on in a defense situation.

And yeah, if anon kills some faggot for jumping him he's still going to jail because canada. Better to bludgeon and GTFO
>>
>>31782430
Ask your friends anyway, and mail them the application form, then have them mail it back to you signed.

Yes it adds on to the cost, and yes it takes more time. But both of these things are better than not having a gun at all.

Dude, put your mother and father on there. That's what I did.

>Anon, the RCMP called me for that thing you were filling out and they asked if you were going to kill anyone. I said no and they told me to have a nice day.
It's very simple.
>>
>>31782555
Member of household means literally anyone you currently live with.

Also, it specifically says "prohibited from possessing any firearm." Not all criminals have such prohibitions slapped on them.
>>
>>31782555
The legal definition :

>Household refers to a person or group of persons who occupy the same dwelling and do not have a usual place of residence elsewhere in Canada or abroad. The dwelling may be either a collective dwelling or a private dwelling. The household may consist of a family group such as a census family, of two or more families sharing a dwelling, of a group of unrelated persons or of a person living alone. Household members who are temporarily absent on reference day are considered part of their usual household.

tl;dr, if in the past 5 years he was living with you (literally had the address listed as his driver's license address, his mail goes there, etc), he's household. If he wasn't, he ain't.
>>
>>31782435
I'll fix that
he knife, you no knife = bad
he no knife, you no knife = equal
he knife, you knife = bad
he no knife, you knife = good

Knife fighting is scary shit, nobody is okay after those.
>>
>>31782572
They specify now that it can't be your parents or your gf/bf/partner/spouse.
>>
>>31782592

>A reference is anyone who has known you for at least three (3) years and is at least 18 years old. However, he or she cannot be your current conjugal partner.

I think it may have changed again. This is from the newest form.
>>
>>31782576

I lived with him 3 years ago, which was when he was getting arrested all the time.
>>
>>31781954
how much money do you have? you can legally carry antiques, flare guns, muskets, signal cannons. situational awareness will help more though, be alert of everyone around you, and any vehicle going past your place. next time they make you feel threatened, kill them. tje cops really won't give a fuck if you are actually in the right and thats usually easy to tell, but theyll arrest and charge you anyways cause they have to
>>31782472
stab them before getting into a struggle? learn to fight? shoot them from far away?
>>
>>31782630
>how much money do you have? you can legally carry antiques, flare guns, muskets, signal cannons.

I'm sure this is bullshit. Even if they're not legally firearms good luck convincing a cop they're not a weapon. There are a thousand ways to have your day or life fucked up at the discretion of the law.

If you carry a knife it's not a weapon if it's a tool. What's your old timey flintlock? Jewelry? This is a stupid idea.
>>
>>31782627
Well, that counts as having been part of the same household in the past 5 years then.

Do you know what his arrests were for? Keep in mind that arrests don't mean prohibition from owning firearms, but rather CONVICTIONS that do, and it depends if they're summary or indictable offenses.

Vehicle theft, graffiti, theft under $1000, B&E, possession of drugs, breaking curfew, breaking probation. Most (if not all) of his arrests were while he was 17 years old, so he may have had the slate wiped clean after he turned 18, not sure. I'm marking the question as a no however.

None of those prohibit you from getting a firearm unless his drugs was a large enough volume to get dinged with intent of distribution (which usually comes with a 10 year no firearms caveat), but if he got nailed for that, he'd probably still be in jail.

As not-your-internet-not-a-lawyer, it seems totally safe to mark "No" for that like you're planning. The big no nos are generally violent crimes and attempted murder, etc.

I think it's to see that you can still hold a stable job and aren't going to be robbing any banks or anything.

Regarding the test, I read the supplementary booklet and it has alot of information regarding flintlocks, cannons, ball and cap, ect, ect.

I only know about common sense things like trigger discipline, no muzzle sweep, tap-rack-bang, ect.

On the test, will you have to know about flintlocks and cannons aswell?

What is the legality of carrying a knife in Canada?
Does it have to be a certain length?
Are there some types i can own but not carry?
Is it a good idea at all, legally wise?
>>
>>31784293
A knife with a """""legitimate"""""" stated purpose can be carried on your person, provided that the blade does not exceed four inches. It cannot have a spring-loaded opening mechanism. It also cannot be a butterfly knife. I've never been clear on the legality of actually owning these things, only that it is against the law to carry them.

>Is it a good idea at all, legally wise?
Dunno man, I've carried a folding knife since I was like 12. Nobody seems to care. It's never been permanently confiscated, not even by Parliament security personnel (and they appear to take their job very seriously).
>>
>>31784293

CCC S.90 (1) Carrying concealed weapon - Every person commits an offence who carries a weapon, a prohibited device or any prohibited ammunition concealed, unless the person is authorized by the Firearms Act to carry it concealed.

Additionally, as interpreted by the CCC S. 2 Definitions - "Weapon" means any thing used, designed to be used or intended for use
(a) in causing death or injury to any person, or
(b) for the purpose of threatening or intimidating any person and, without restricting the foregoing, includes a firearm.

Prohibited items as listed in Bill C-68, sec. III, related to blades specifically :

3. Any instrument or device commonly known as “shuriken”, being a hard non-flexible plate having three or more radiating points with one or more sharp edges in the shape of a polygon, trefoil, cross, star, diamond or other geometrical shape, and any similar instrument or device.

5. Any finger ring that has one or more blades or sharp objects that are capable of being projected from the surface of the ring.

8. The device known as the “Constant Companion”, being a belt containing a blade capable of being withdrawn from the belt, with the buckle of the belt forming a handle for the blade, and any similar device.

9. Any knife commonly known as a “push-dagger” that is designed in such a fashion that the handle is placed perpendicular to the main cutting edge of the blade and any other similar device other than the aboriginal “ulu” knife.

10. Any device having a length of less than 30 cm and resembling an innocuous object but designed to conceal a knife or blade, including the device commonly known as the “knife-comb”, being a comb with the handle of the comb forming a handle for the knife, and any similar device.

11. The device commonly known as a “Spiked Wristband”, being a wristband to which a spike or blade is affixed, and any similar device.

tl;dr - If it isn't concealed, and is a tool, it's okay.
>>
>>31784333
There's no actual law regarding blade length in Canada, as per >>31784336

That's just shit that cops say but has absolutely no legal grounds. They might hassle you more but if you work in the bush and you decide to have a 6 inch buck knife, they can suck your dick, because it's not illegal.
>>
>>31784336
So basically you can't carry one for self-defence and you cant carry one at all if you don't have a job that requires knives

can i carry one on my belt if its not concealed then?
>>
>>31784368
You absolutely *cannot* carry one for self defense.

Your job doesn't have to require knives in a crazy capacity either, you just have to have reasonable grounds for your knife to be used as a "tool". It's up to the discretion of the police (ha ha ha ha ha) if your claim is reasonable.

I find in more outdoorsy areas, no one gives a shit. Tons of guys are carrying knives for cutting fishing line, making feathersticks, opening boxes, whatever.

If it's like downtown Toronto and you have a knife on you in the middle of the city, the cops are going to bust your balls and rake you over the coals about it.
>>
>>31784368
Yes, carrying one on your belt is totally fine. Preferable, really. There are horror stories of people being stopped by the cops and not even thinking twice about having a folding pocket knife on them or to bring it up and then getting searched by the cops who chimp out and claim they were carrying a concealed weapon.

I always wear it clipped on my belt or front of my backpack strap..
>>
>>31784401
So if you don't have a job or you live in a city, or are just unlucky; you're fucked.
Reading further basically carrying anything to defend yourself from Jamal and his 9 friends is illegal and you must submit to the enrichment.
So basically just carry a knife that's REALLY well concealed and don't be an ass to cops so they don't search you?
>>
>>31784421
If you want? But if you end up having to defend yourself and you use a knife, you're going to get ABSOLUTELY fucked in court.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/self-defence-what-s-acceptable-under-canadian-law-1.1229180

tl;dr, you can knock people out with your bare hands, but if you use a weapon on someone and deal permanent lasting damage, you're fucked.

Canada's self defense laws are beyond cuckold tier.
>>

Agreed, but i would say that's better than having all your teeth knocked out, becoming a vegetable or a cripple, or being dead.

If you live in Canada and are unreasonably paranoid about getting enriched, the best legal option you have is one of these

https://www.amazon.com/Never-Thought-of-It-Standard-Unbreakable-Umbrella/dp/B01A9CDNZ2

It's an indestructible umbrella that's basically an iron pipe. There's no hidden blades or any weird trick handle or shit that'd get it flagged as a weapon. Just a good beating stick.

Kubaton keychains are also legal but dubiously effective. It's basically a metal rod that you jam into someone's neck or groin or eyes.
>>
>>31784426
>>31784439
>>31784442

Pepper spray is illegal, but bear spray and dog spray are legal... if you use them on bears and dogs.

If you're caught using bear/dog spray on a human (even in self defence), you will be criminally charged.

Literally limited to using a good heavy flashlight, umbrella, steel toed shoes and keychains.
>>
>>31784442
>>31784455
>umbrellas
>keychains
>boots
>flashlights

>>
>>31784959

>>
>>31784401
this is bullshit. you can carry for self defence if it's not concealed. I don't recommend saying it's for defence though. A knife is a useful tool, I've never had to hurt someone with mine and I don't want to. I use it daily to cut my food, open boxes, etc. I never know what I'll end up using it for, yesterday I used it to cut patches for a muzzleloader.

>>31784410
If a cop asks you if you're carrying any weapons, say "No, but I have a knife". This way you don't confess to carrying a concealed weapon, but also tells the cop the information he wants to know. If a cop ever tries to take something from you, demand a receipt with his badge number written on it. Cops don't generally like "that guy" that asks for their badge number but it's only fair if he's taking something of yours that you want back.

>>31784421

>>
>>31786162
Depends what you define as bad.
1. You need a valid weapons license for THAT weapon and you can only use it for hunting (on paper that is)

1.1 You can only have a max of 5 weapons before you need a really good reason to own more

1.2 You can't own several rifles in the same calibre.

2. You can't own any "military weapons" aka, M1 Garand, SKS, Mosin Nagant, FN FAL etc.
(For some reason my Mosin Nagant got approved, albeit the local police station don't understand shit about weapons & ammunition so there's that.)

2.1 I sent an application for the mauser and they hadn't heard of ANY ammunition named 7.92x57mm and threatened to cancel my application, until I said "8mm Mauser" and it was solved.

3. Automatic rifles are strictly forbidden, semi-automatic rifles are heavily regulated on calibres higher than .22LR

4. The police can randomly come and check your weapon locker, ammunition, weapons etc to see if they are in a secure place. Ff they aren't, say goodbye to your weapons AND future plans for having any.
>>
>>31786184
An SKS shouldn't run you more than $200-230. Those are waaaaaaay too high.
SKSes are inexpensive because they made 30 quadrillion of the things, not because they're cheap junk. Same with Tokarevs-don't confuse a low price with low quality.
>>
>>31786245
I define all of that as bad. Geez. Well, you could move here. Assuming you're white, don't vote Liberal and love guns and personal freedoms.

>>31786266
I've been thinking about it to be honest.

A single SP bullet costs me 4 CAD.

I used to always recommend westrifle, because they took pictures of each individual SKS so you knew what you were ordering instead of relying on luck. they're really slowed down their listings and aren't posting that much as of this summer, because supplier problems.

here's my 1953 hardwood tula from them that cost $240. tula armory being a manufacturer generally perceived as having higher quality output than others. my experience with two unambiguous russian sks's lead me to believe this is true.

I think the new most reliable way of getting a tula model online is from firearmsoutletcanada who just list them as 'supergrade' @$300 vs. rolling the sks lottery @$200. If you have the option of inspecting sks's in person at a store, then it's also a possibility to find a tula for a lot cheaper than this.

Seems like most people were taught by their dads, or lived in the country and were exposed to firearm culture from early on. I'm only a bit nervous because there are no second chances with fuckups when it comes to guns, and since I have no friends and am teaching myself everything from the internet, nobody will stop me from fucking up, for example failing to clean an SKS properly so it slamfires while I'm at the range.

1. Safety hearing protection equipment -- easier and more responsible by the gun owner to mitigate the source of the hearing damage noise than all of the recipients.
2. Public courtesy, elimination of nuisance noise pollution, less interference with peace and life enjoyment of others
3. More humane, less stressful forest environment for the animals during hunting season -- the buck might be the one getting killed, but the squirrels, birds, foxes and raccoons are ALL getting scared senseless and they don't need to be.

if someone can actually demonstrate to the law makers that suppressors just dampen the noise a bit and don't turn guns into some sort of spit-sounding ultra-stealthy ninja tools, like they do in movies, maybe we could get some common sense hearing protection laws

They've made suppressors out to be some magical device that turns a .50 call rifle into a pellet gun or a handgun into a kid shooting rubber bands with his fingers. With the way the ar 15 petition went I highly doubt anything we say about suppressors will get through to them because they think they're purely assassination things

Yeah, job hopping isn't bad out of high school, college or whatever, but the "more flexible" thing is mostly complete bullshit.
