If you've got no restrictions get LOWA Zephyrs in whatever color you like. If they need to be polishable black leather get LOWA Uplander GTX TF

Just about to post this
>Danner Tachyon GTX
my duty boots
Also curious about boots.
Requirements are:
> Durable
> Comfortable to run in
> Weather resistant
> Able to wear them in public without looking like an autist any more than I already am
>>31776684
Lowa boots a best.
I use these at work and Im really happy with them
>>31776566
those look identical to my shits from Oakley SI
>>31777236
Posting the only brand worthy of beggin to differ
If you want light get Nikes. If you want a solid boot get Danners.
The only pair you'll ever need.
>>31777360
I have these. Good for the price, soles wore out quicker than my Lowa's like these on the left >>31777236
I would honestly have the Oakley again. Just about as good but half the price.
>>31780289
those look pretty comfy
can red wings count as tactical? they are very comfy
Rocky s2v
>>31780433
only if you can tactically suck dick at cocaine parties in the village.
>>31780426
but the price

>Red Wings are for hipster faggots
My 1426's beg to differ. American made, waterproof, and durable under all sorts of stress.
The kick the asses of any of the American made Dinner stuff.
>>31776505
I like Bellevilles, I've been using the Khybers for a few years now and they've held up excellently.
>>31781917
Red Wings are awesome. I've worn their steel toed shoes as a mechanic for years and they won me over.
Due to a job change I'm in need of waterproof boots for the winter, insulated wouldn't hurt either. Been looking at Salomon boots since I love their hiking shoes, but Red Wing as well. Would prefer to have a safety toe as well.
Any other suggestions on winter operating boots?
>>31777094
light safety work boots?
>>31782141
You can get the 1426's with a safety toe too. My first pair got me through 6 years of working 48+ hours a week in EMS in New England, and are still waterproof despite all the snow, salt, puddles, tearing the toes up on the stretcher, etc. I swear the leather has to be 1/4" thick in places.
>>31782196
Apparently they make safety boot/sneaker hybrids like pic related.
Might have to grab a pair.

>>31776505
i use 5.11 atac storms for work, the side zip is nice between calls and for quick on and off, and they're pretty damn durable.

>>31776505
Where can I find a pair of repro jungle boots that arent made from chink tires ?
>>31776684
>>31777236
I have Lowas too and like them a lot.
That said, boots are a personal thing. The Lowas that are great for me might not work on somebody else's feet. Forget the whole tacticool boot thing, do what the actual operators do, and go to REI or another good outdoor gear store and try shit on.
>>31782141
Seconding Red Wings being legitimately good work boots. I have the most hipster model of all (Iron Ranger) and they're actually awesome in the shop, the thin soles are great on the TIG pedal and the leather holds up to sparks and shit much better than synthetic does.
>>31776505
if you want ultra light all terrain rucking boots to stop pistol rounds here you go. Danner melees are the best as far as tread wear and multicam nylon construction is concerned. Slapped a poly plate on each and they still weigh less then 1.5 lbs for both boots.
>>31782709
without poly plate
>>31782747
Reeeeeee non-compliant reeeee
theyre not flashy and the break in period is a bitch but once theyre broken they are extremely comfortable and will last forever. got a pair now that ive been wearing daily in all climates for over a year and aside from the tread wearing away theyre in about as good a shape as the day i bought them.
>>31782843
they also provide great ankle support, are waterproof (unless you get the pair with the vents in the arch of the foot), and have excellent tread for dirt, sand, and mud. they dont work very well for ice though the tread is too stiff.
>>31782828
>what is comfortable
>what is best or nothing
>what is light weight
superior boots = superior comfort = I don't give a fuck they make me feel like I run faster past people so I must be. Also fuck military u.s "made in a penitentiary" compliance lowest bidder shit. insoles cost 90$ a pair for sorbothane pros shipped from the UK. Poly plates made in europe. my boots cost 550$ for the upgrades that means they are worth more then your rifle or plate carrier probably
>>31782843
>>31782873
is there any variant that doesnt have the corps symbol?
>>31782913
http://www.danner.com/product/casual/danner-military-mojave.html
they seem similar but ive never worn them so im not sure as to the quality comparison. best bet for that answer would be to call danner and ask. theyve got pretty good customer service.
>>31782957
danner sells them you can find better prices on amazon sometimes almost half off the price.
Semi-related question...
What are the best value field boots? My local range is an eternal mud pit. I can't afford Le Chameau, and Hunter seems to have transformed into a girly fashion brand.
>>31783013
Have you looked into CBRN rubber over boots? go 3-4 sizes up recommend at least 4 for true to fit and ease of removal, that way you keep the comfort but still have mud protection. Unless its swampish then pic related looks good to go..
>>31783114
I'm talking serious mud that you sink into up to your ankles. I've ruined a few pairs of sneakers because somehow even if it hasn't rained in over a week, the mud is still there, always.
While we're on boots
Anyone know any decent work socks for colder weather? Mine are starting to fall apart.
>>31783376
Duluth trading company has some good cold weather socks.
>>31782881
Wow, nice total autism responding to a fucking joke.
I was masturbating, but now...
Is there a boot, as comfortable as the Adidas GSG 9.2, as secure as the Haix GSG (with puncture protection and stuff) and as nice as the Under Armour Infil Ops GTX ?
>>31785025
>>31783376
Snap-on branded socks are very durable. They're just thick cotton socks though. Smartwool has totally won me over though. I have like 10 pair in various lengths and thicknesses. Expensive, but to me it's worth it. If my feet are happy, I'm happy.
Best boots I have ever owned.
Comfy, durable, waterproof, only you will look like an autist if you wear them in public.
Lowa, Danner and Tactical Research (Belleville) all make boots that are lightweight and waterproof.
Stay far away from Oakley, UnderArmor and Nike. They don't hold up
>>31786895
nah I doubt it man. almost any boot look good with jeans.
>>31786895
btw post pics of it.
>>31787735
Ok dude, just admit you don't get laid
Nike sfb field, super lightweight and pretty comfortable
Go with a good 'ol pair of regulation Bates. They're Waterproof and steel toe plus tactical black (include tactical shine) not to mention stylish.

btw those were not my boots, but most ones actually do look good with a simple jeans
just do not go to parties with them..
>>31787771
troll post or no
>>31787051
You listen to what this anon has to say 100% correct and you will get the same answer from folks who actually rucked or those who actually served as pogs and had to walk constantly every day.
I like these. I have em in olive drab and want them in coyote for work.
I'm waiting for Altama to finally start selling them to the public instead of shoving all their inventory to the Army for basic issue. These were suppose to come out in coyote brown a year ago in December.
>>31787051
>>31787937
These are also correct
Nike/Oakley boots are over expensive memes.
That said I had a pair of original Nike SFBs for garrison before they gave out two years ago.
Garmont T8 Bifida IIs are pretty good.
>>31782709
>>31782747
Where do you get those poly plates? Tried google, but my google-fu sucks.
>>31787051
Yup.
Oakleys will fucking soak your feet
>>31787998
I think Altama is going through some ownership changes. You could check out McRaes hot weather boots. They're the same style and I hear reviews that they're better than Altamas.
>pic unrelated
Ordered some Austrian Para boots off of ebay. I hear people saying they're getting different versions of the boot pictured though. Hope I don't get fucked.
>>31777265
Are the Quest 4D GTX really that good or are they just meme boots?

>>31781917
Those are some fine looking boots. WANT.
i just use my outdoor boots. normally id use my danner mountain lights, but if i dont need the waterproofing, my other pair of merrell moab rovers suffice.
