Just get some regular pepper spray from a good brand. The Kimber Pepper Blaster always seemed like a cool idea to me, but it somewhat fails on practicality as you have no way to practice with one to ensure your 2 shots count and they are to expensive to buy a few to practice with at $30-$40 each. If they didn't have that problem I probably would have been carrying one the whole time between being 17 and 21.

You can get perfectly workable pistols in common calibers for 2-300 LEGALLY, don't get a stop gap, because you're just wasting money on some shit that is going to be totally useless once you actually have a gun.

The situation presented by that movie/TV show/whatever requires her to have no idea what she's doing, just like the situations presented in V for Vendetta require the people with guns to have no idea what they're doing. One of the first rules of using a weapon is to not just let someone walk up to you and grab it, and if you ignore that simple rule then it doesn't matter what weapon you choose.

I have one and I almost never carry it. I rather have a fun for like, every other conceivable purpose.

The only reason I have one is for when I need to go to places where I don't have a license to carry and I could get royally fucked if I got caught like New Jersey.

I carried mine in PA to a Trump Rally a week or two ago but naturally left it in the car. But I didn't want to get caught with a gun anywhere near a rally like that and I don't have a PA permit anyway.

I usually just bring my gun to PA anyway because compared to NJ they're slightly more flexible. I should just get a PA non-resident but I gotta drive like an hour and figure out how to do it. I know it's not hard it's just not at the top of my list.

But I've carried it like three times in a year. So yeah. I think it's good to have but I really don't think it's the right tool for most jobs and has significant down sides like the fact you have to aim and fire this thing directly into someones eyes and you only have two chances, compared to just hosing them down with a can.

But it's like a CCW and I have a Kydex IWB holster for it so the muscle memory and tactics are all already burned into my brain for it. It's just.. not a gun which is why it sucks.
