Depends entirely on how much you can afford. Some expensive gear works significantly better than cheaper alternatives, but you should be able to put a BoB together on the cheap.

Mine cost about $600 but most of it I either already had or planned to buy anyway because I do a lot of long distance backpack hunting.

lets say cost isn't a problem, what gear would be worth spending the extra money on vs. the total kit

Only plebes buy pre-assembled b.o.b because here's what is gonna happen. You'll buy it and it'll sit in your closet and never touch it after the first day. If you create your own. You know all the in and outs of what. Whats inside and when shit expires etc.

So here's what you do buy:
>a legit rucksack system
>shit you need in bugout bag

Also that canvas bag looks like hipster shit.

Imo stainless water bottle (can boil in it), a Jetboil (cooks faster than campfire plus less visible light, a midsize isobutane canister lasts a week at 3 meals a day), and a mid to high end backpack (more comfort, more greyman than an alice pack).

OP here, lets say clothing as well...what clothing would be suitable for BoB/innawood survival? do you go cammies for longgevity/durability? or?
>>

Ive got earthtone Columbia pants and long sleeve hiking shirt in mine. Pants are nyco, shirt is some form of UPF synthetic, works decently for concealment without being camo and dry quick plus ripstop.

Have a couple pairs of Adidas compression boxers and 2 pairs of smartwool crew hiking socks.

All told maybe $120 in clothes but its stuff Ive used extensively and trust, plus I already had it.
