No, the SLR series are essentially just AKS74 clones (in different calibers for the 106 and 107 obviously)

The closest thing we can get to a 100 series clone in the US were SGLs before they got b& or you can just piece together parts and build your own clone

The 106,104,107 numbering used by Arsenal USA is completely arbitrary and has nothing to do with real AK-10X rifles made by Izhmash.

SGL-20, SGL-21, SGL-31, SLR-104/5/6/7, all of these are just model names and have no bearing on military rifles

Price check please Anons. Califag here looking to sell my rifle before assault weapons ban here.
Don't worry, I've got other weapons, it's just too hard to source 7.62 locally.

WASR, Arsenal stock with cleaning kit, Magpul handguard, Attero Arms red dot mount with Primary Arms Micro Dot and the original iron sights, 4 Fakelite mags, mag pouches, 320 rounds of assorted Wolf and Tula ammo, and an ammo can.

I was gonna set an asking price of $900. Is this fair? There's going to be a mass markup soon, and I could always wait to price gouge later but I want to sell it now.
Thanks gents

Im thinking its time for me to buy an AK. The last one I owned was an Arsenal SLR106 (the 5.56) and I really liked it but I sold it back in 2012.

Im torn between 7.62 and 5.56, both are good rounds I already have reloading equipment for. I don't like the 5.45 because it's really hard to get reloading supplies.

What would be a good rifle for me to get nowadays? Assume price range under 1.2k
>>
I recently purchased an slr-107. Does any one have any experience with mounting Ruskie optics like say a PSO-1 or a reason I should avoid Russian optics all together
>>
>>31766691

Appreciate it. I have to wonder in light of possibly trying to sell my P226 and buying an AK with a fear of what's coming if I should go 7.62 or 5.45. From the first AK I had that I sold (to buy the P226, don't ask long story and I was stupid. P226 is good gun though) I am still sitting on around 960 rounds of that banned russian surplus corrosive 5.45. But I wouldn't want to get an AK74 that ends up firing dollar bills if a ban is inacted.

But given there's commercial sources of 5.45 that are around 0.22-0.23, about the same as 7.62, it might be I'm over-thinking it. I was amazed at how 5.45's recoil was - nonexistent, that is to say.
>>
>>31768759
>Assume price range under 1.2k
Not going to happen with anything decent outside of a WASR or Yugo or maybe DDI

The side rail is my favorite optic mounting solution. It's easy, it holds zero, and it beats having a railed gas tube with an optic way out front.
>>
>>31768759

In my opinion, bearing in mind I am dum dum here >>31768821

There's a reason to say "Why do I need another 5.56 large magazine rifle, that's redundant and not adventurous and exciting" (assuming your 7.62 is a SKS or something) but there's a reason to say "Why do I need a rifle in a different caliber if I have a shit-ton of 5.56".

You'd have authentic AK mags if you go 7.62 vs entirely (I think?) domestic magazines for 5.56.

I'd personally say go with 7.62.

I'm trying to buy something from someone from Russia, but he sent me this in response to payment method:

"i can't to take money directly PP, only via eBay + PP because our Russian PP have a fucking crazy rules!!!
My customers buying my goods via eBay. It is good for me and my customers because i have a good feedback on eBay and each payment will protected by eBay and PP.
If it good for you, then let's do so:
1. I'll create an add on eBay and show you a lot number.
2. You'll buy this lot on eBay
3. I'll send to you goods.
But since the policy PP and eBay forbid any gun-words therefore i will create an ad without these words."

The VEPR is a series of rifles made by Molot in Russia. The quality is generally great, better than Izhmash IMHO. Many of the guns you see listed on Atlantic will be modified VEPRs, rather than factory guns. I shy away from "converted" guns, personally. The only VEPRs I have are shotguns and a 5.45 with a thumb hole stock (don't judge me).

I'm holding out for a VEPR like pic related.

You're supposed to turn them up m8, like ambient noises should have been loud as fuck in your ear
>>
>>31769769
Seriously, who the fuck thinks you can get a WASR for $500? Or even $600?
>>
>>31770509
wat, ambient noises were fine but it was like a video game in where you could literally hear everything including gunshots without the EEEEEEEE effect, the gunshots were loud enough to be disorienting so I had to turn them down or leave them off indoors
>>
>>31770343
sold out
and
sold out
>>
>>31770567
I haven't gotten to go shooting yet but with it turned all the way up it seems to cancel noise properly if I do other retardedly loud shit. These are my first set of active headphones but other people I know who own them tell me this is roughly how they should be, playing a feedback noise in your ear to cancel things like gunshots
>>
>>31770052
Are you not man enough for thicc salt raifus?
>>
>>31770608
Okay let me know how it goes then,
When I first got them, they were also my first active ear pro and also I went around my house doing stuff, sounded fine and all
I'm pretty sure it was just an indoors thing, where it canceled out the direct wavelength of shots but didn't filter out the reverb of the sound bouncing around the range or something, it was incredibly disorienting

Is this a good muzzle break guys?
Its cheap as hell and has pretty good reviews

Its the Tapco slotted break
>>
>>31770750
I have one.
It's alright.
>>
>>31770750
i have one but it doesn't do much more than a slant break already does
>>
>>31770778
>>31770782
Is it worth $13 to replace the slant break or not so much?
>>
>>31770815
IF you need another 13 bucks to get free shipping or something, yeah.

It is better than the slant in a few ways. A LITTLE bit more climb control, and a LITTLE better dust signature control.
>>
>>31770815
well it looks cool, but i got bored with mine and put a slant break on the wasr and a 3 prong on npap
>>
guys..... where are some sites that still have some AKs in stock?

I've got an rpk sling coming from Russia and a thread protector from Kvar to get rid of the slant break.

Bought a set of m1964 furniture off of apex for $110.

Kinda pricey, but I had to get the shit that was on it off there.

When I bought it it had a polymer top handguard, a wooden lower handguard, a slide fire stock, and the clubfoot stock without the nice color.
>>
>>31771154
Oh shit that looks just like the poly top guard I accidentally bought. It fits on an AK perfectly, mine does at least
>>
>>31771374
It fit on there pretty good, but I dont know the manufacturer or anything. No wiggle or anything. I threw it in my box of AK parts so if any /k/ommandos need a top poly handguard for free just lemme know and I'll ship it to you.

Might take a while to ship but it's free
>>
>>31771454
I did the same thing. My problem with them is they're slotted rather than straight cut so they don't actually match with anything new. I basically wasted 15 dollars on mine and I still need to get a top handguard for mine now
>>
>>31771473
Well on the bright side $15 bucks isn't too much. Mildy annoying, but not bad.

I bought a sling swivel from amazon a couple weeks ago for my buttstock only for it not to fit so I know how annoying it is when parts aren't right.

Yea the 15 bucks ain't really a problem, I just want the actual part I need. It's practically impossible to find someone selling just an upper handguard for an AK. I know K-var has them but for their price I could buy a full set
>>
>>31771592
Maybe someone on AKfiles would sell what you need.

Nice pussy.

I had a WTB on AK and FAL Files, that's how I got this one. After I'm done paying to fix my car I'll start buying gun stuff again

It truly is hard. The good thing is it works again, screwed in a new oil pan about 3 hours ago. Bad part is now I'm finding out something in the front right wheel is fucked and what I believe is an air hose is leaking in the turbo. But I cooooould forgo fixing those for now since the car is perfectly functional, it's just making weird noises

A normal old slant? That's all I've got on that rifle, it's an ugly IO INC MADE IN USA plastered slant that came with it.

>>31771892
Yeah the little ear things on the lug were ground off for import, there are still teeny tiny bumps where they were but not enough to mount a bayonet.

The rest of us tie them, once the legs of the spring is wrapped around the hammer.

I've decided I want a nice milled AK before hitlery bans everything. Been looking real hard at getting this "do it yourself" rifle from DDI and adding some cheap wood furniture.
https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/ddi47-milled-diy-detail.html?Itemid=0

Other options I've considered,
>SAM7
>Too much money

>SLR95, SLR96, SA93 ect
>Un-sporterizing them is too much money and hassle

>C39V2
>Ugly
>Made by century

Is DDI gud?
>>
>>31772508
Just keep in mind you will need milled specific furniture.
Regular run of the mill stuff won't fit.
DDI is ok, but only if you get laid often.
>>
>>31772508
DDI is pretty good.

>>
>>31772668
No, the mongoloid before me found a 56-2 parts kit and smashed the rivets with a hammer.

I'm assuming though, I bought it in an estate sale.
>>
>>31772686
is the barrel original?
that sucks man ....
>>
>>31772703
Nothin really sucks about it, it's a solid rifle other than the horrible stock installation.

It's a real type 56 with factory barrel, bolt and all the other unmentionables that are serialized.

Fun fact: He electropenciled the bayonet with the serial at one point to fake it as a factory stamp.

I bought new rivets with the intention of re-doing them, I just don't have the motivation or the jig to do it.

And at that point, it feels a bit wrong to make it look factory. It's not a 56-2, I will never personally pass it off as one, but the next guy might, and that bothers me somewhat.

Resident AK builders... is there any dimensional differences between the Hungarian and Romanian rear sight blocks?

Yugos were purpose built into the rifles, EGs were an after thought and able to be clipped on.
Also both initially used Radium paint, but Yugo switched to tritium.
