On pure talent and training, I'll say Gurkhas as British infantry is generally better than American. But a light infantry specialist group like pre marsoc Force recon or a ranger company would probably beat the gurkhas

Overall

Assuming line infantry companies with standard gear the Gurkhas are commanded by brit junior officers and the marines by marines officers the marines might be able to even things up as marine infantry juniors are the best in regular infantry officers in the world (crazy high standards). Combined with current modern kit the edge might go to marines as Gurkhas have shit gear. The kukriniggers still use bren guns. I don't know what kinda of NVG the Gurkhas have but I'd say it's nowhere close to the marines. Marines are much bigger on average and will be carrying a lot more gear and ammo which comes in as both groups lack support. Mountains give a slight edge to kukriniggers but most Marine infantry NCO's at least are veterans of afghanistan. Fairly equal company level weapons but marines have a bunch more grenade launchers and more advanced weapons
