So, I bought a cheap lower with the intent to rattle can it ODG. It worked and looked good before I had it built out, but during its building the paint chipped. I sanded it even and hit it with a touch up, but the chip is still visible.

I think I'm going to ride with it and just say it's "battle worn". What stock should I get for it?

Going to put a 16" AERO upper on it.

Going to ask the same question that I did in the last thread. Does anyone know anything about this company's barreled uppers at all? Freefloat uppers for $200-230 seems like a good deal when freefloat handguards are selling for like $200 just by themselves. Or maybe every part they use is total garbage and I'm off-base? I don't want it to sound like I'm shilling for them because I actually don't know, but if anyone has experience, I'd be very interested in hearing it.

Anyone have experience dealing with Aero Precision customer service? My carry handles front bolt thing just stripped itself out. I really liked the one I got, it felt well made (though the back was a little scuffed up, but whatever). It even has a square forge mark just like my upper. I sent in a ticket online so I guess I'll wait and see if they will exchange it for me. Really was looking forward to it and picked them over the cheap chink knock-offs because I was afraid of this happening.

I only tightened it my hand, and never more than I could undo. Did I mess up or was it a bad part?

>>thinks only people born in 1900-24 fought in WWII
Of course older and a few younger people fought in it but the generation that came of age near it and as such were expected to fight it is where the general range lies. Those who were in their late 30s down to late teens in 1939 are generally regarded as being of 'the greatest generation.' Certainly some who were a little older or younger who followed and experienced the various milestones and culture could be considered within it as well. I'm sorry your autistic or nigger brain, as the case may be, cannot handle concepts that are not absolutes and require a little higher order reasoning.

As cheap as possible?
Some guy on here earlier today found this company:
https://22mods4all.com/en/74-barreled-upper-assemblies

They've got a ton of uppers and they're cheap as shit. I can't actually recommend them as I've never heard of the company or heard anyone talk about them.

Of course everyone will point you towards PSA but at this point anything your buy from PSA isn't really going to be a good deal. They're primary market is normies so they're prices aren't actually that good.

I've done two builds with Hardened Arms uppers. With about 1.5k rounds through the two ARs combined I can say I'm pretty happy. Consider this:
http://www.hardenedarms.com/ecProduct_444_27
Freefloated Keymod rail, includes BCG and charging handle, reasonable twist, decent barrel material, and okay barrel profile.

Bear in mind they build a lot to order so it might take them a while to get you your upper.

What did he mean by this?
You want a matched upper and lower?
Most matched upper and lower sets are billet. A matched billet upper and lower really isn't in your price range.
You can do a "matched" forged upper and lower set by buying the forged upper and lower from the same company, but don't call it a matched set because then you'll just sound autistic.

So what exactly are you looking for again?

Also don't call it a build out. It is just called a build.

>>31757910
Very.
>>
>>31757961

forged sets that i know of are aero, mega, bison armory, noveske, and rra

there are a few more billet sets. rainier arms, mega, battle arms, f1, 2a, cobalt, northtech

A matched billet upper and lower set is going to start around $375. They only really go up from there. I mean you can do it if you've got the coin.
$1200 is your budget for the rifle, not including optic I assume? Where about do you live? Urban or rural?

mega is great. a lower doesnt really matter as long as its milspec, you will have to go out of your way to find one not milspec.

go to your lgs and buy the stripped lower from them to save money.

for a trigger i recommend a larue mbt, its $125 and is the best 2 stage trigger.

larue and ballistic advantage make the best barrels under 250

a lower parts kit should run you $50-70. aero is great and what i use

buffer kits should be like $50, again aero is great.

stocks- check out magpuls offerings or b5 sopmod

handguards depend on your budget. magpul makes great buis

np m8. a lot of shit is subjective and you need to base your decisions off what you think looks good or feels good in your hands. if you have any nice lgs around you go and feel as much as you can.

before you buy anything big ask here and hopefully someone gives you an honest answer.

trigger, barrel, and optics imo are the most important things. like i said you cant go wrong with ballistic advantage or larue for barrels and larue or geissele for triggers.

For lowers you've got a decent amount of options, all around the $80-$130 range.

Aero Precision
Mega
YHM

All of these companies also make forged uppers, but any milspec forged upper will work.

Nothing is wrong with the M&P15, it is a fine rifle, but recognize that most of the regulars here do AR15s as a hobby. Rifles like the M&P15 are the antithesis of the "hobby" AR.

>selling the DD rail
>>
>>31758629
Let's dispel this fiction that people who buy G rails are "rich," and those buying ALG are "poor."

Most G rails seen on are bought on sale (many times a year). Forget about the blem sales at $99. Let's take the 25% off sale on PA.

A 15" DDC G rail normally costs $300 and at 25% off it'll be $225, and it comes with a gas block. http://www.primaryarms.com/05-286s/p/05-286s/

A GB retails for $59, and at 25% off it costs $44.25.. http://www.primaryarms.com/ga-sgb/p/ga-sgb/

THUS, $225 - $44.25, the rail if it were possible to be bought separately has the theoretical value of $180.75.

---

ALG V2 15" DDC is $180 (V1 + Cowitness Rail is same) http://www.primaryarms.com/alg-15-ergonomic-modular-rail-v2-mlok-desert-dirt/p/05-319s/

These don't go on sale as often as G rails, and mostly only 15% off. So sale price= $153.

---

As you see, if you take away the cost of the GB, the G Rail on sale (very often, ~5-6 times a year on most holidays) is literally the same price as the ALG ($180). But since the G Rail isn't sold separately from the GB, then it is only $45 more ($225 vs $180 respectively).

Even using all sale prices, the G rail ($225) is only $72 more than the ALG ($153).

If you consider that ALG buyers need to purchase a Gas Block ($44.25, other GBs of similar quality costs ~$40), which brings the cost up $153 + $44.25 = $197. 25, then there's only a $27.75 difference between the price of the two rails.

Even at full price ALG+GB = $180+$59 = $239, the G Rail ($300) has only a $61 premium over ALG.

TLDR: A G Rail is at most $27.75 - $72 more than an ALG, not including the tools (torque wrench $25-$50 needed to install the G rail) vs $5 pipe for the ALG. They cost similarly. Yes, the G Rail may be considered aesthetically superior, but ALG has undoubtedly better ergonomics. Both are strong, but ALG may be slightly stronger due to tubular nature. Just user preference.

Yeah, the green laser on the DBAL.

I have a hard time justifying one given my current lack of NV.

Why are you looking to the Geissele Mk4 from the Mk18 RIS II? I've seen some JSOC teams are training with the Geissele rails on their 416s but that is likely due to the paucity of quality 416 rail options.

This is a foolish statement considering the wide range of gas hole sizes, tube lengths, buffer weights, cartridge loads and shooting applications. There are lots of reasons to make use of an adjustable gas block. A suppressor is just one of them.

>>31759588
They are entirely for looks and have no beneficial features.

But some of them do look good and aren't very much more than a good milspec upper.

>>31759641
A vise block, a 3/4" open end wrench for your muzzle device, good magazines.

You can fuck up the barrel nut, muzzle device, receiver extension castle nut, gas port alignment, bolt catch roll pin and you can launch detents into the aether without tools or knowledge.

But as gunsmithing goes, ARs are relatively foolproof.
