Crossman 1088 troubleshooting help. I have this air gun. When I load a new Co2 I only get 1-2 shots. Then it with dry fire. If I let it sit for 5-10 mins it will fire 1-2 more. Any ideas why this is happening? Or how to fix it? It's 3-4 years old and hardly used. Worked fine when new. Has been on the shelf for a few years and now will not work correctly.

Yup. Cracked and therefore leak CO2.

Airguns are /k/. It's airsoft that belongs on /sp/.

The Co2 doesn't leak out of the gun. And there is plenty of air in the Co2. Its like some of the air goes into the gun, then stops. I can fire the few shots of air. Then I have to sit and wait for more air to slowly fill back into the gun. If I loosen and tighten the Co2 it will give me 1-2 shots again. I was thinking there might be some way it chambers air. Or maybe something was blocking the air from flowing.

Could be the valve.

the seals are fucked but not completely fucked
its immediately venting gas which freezes up the action
the reason you have to wait is to warm up the gun

Really its my fathers. I just figured I would give this a shot before I thow the thing in the trash. I was assuming the seals were bad somehow. I am/was familiar with paint ball guns. And this wasn't an issue I ever came across.

Crossman is a garbage brand.
I took it all apart and it is the valve (all the seals are in the valve). The stem is very slowly retracting after the hammer hits it. Figure I'll hang onto it for now. If I get caught shooting my little S&W .22 in my yard I'll just say it was that.
