Memes aside, what is the most versatile and practical sidearm/rifle combo for normal life and a SHTF situation?
9mm handgun, probably polymer for weight savings, and leaning on the small side.
g19.
.308, semiautomatic rifle. preferably something a little more on the accurate side.
ar10 build
in shtf, you should be trying to run away from almost every firefight. a .308 has a little more versatility than a .223, even thought id much rather have an ar15 for war. honestly, you could swap out the .308 for a shotgun for even more versatility

Thanks.
SCAR 17S + Glock 19
>>31735966
AR-15 and Glock 17/19.
Boring? Yes.
But it's boring because it's so common. You know what "common" gives you? Bigger chance for replacements parts compatibility, mags, and ammo.

I would still argue for 5.56 in an everyday or shtf scenario. .308 is a fantastic round with fantastic performance, but it's heavy and better implemented in special purpose situations. Weight and follow-up shots alone should make 5.56 a clearer choice. Any range at which you wouldn't use a 5.56 is a range at which you shouldn't be engaging unless you're actively pursuing an objective.
>honestly, you could swap out the .308 for a shotgun for even more versatility.
A shotgun is significantly less versatile than any rifle. Even when you account for hunting: limited mag capacity, ammo weight and size, and practical range make them borderline useless.

I like you man. I like you a lot.

this thread shouldn't be interesting.
This is the best answer.
I went with a solid 16 ind mid length ar15 and a CZ sp01 . I'm looking for a small ccw to replace that

What sight is this?

Trijicon Reflex.

a wide variety of loads means hunting any sort of game.
shotguns are worse fighting implements, but you shouldnt be trying to fight dudes and the pistol will be fine for defensive use.
Thread is about the BEST.
Not the most common or most available.
Personally, I think glocks are heavily unreliable. I have had 5, yes FIVE fail on me personally, two exploded from SHELF ammo, permanently injuring my left hand.
I think the real answer here is whatever you're most comfortable with. However, to give a solid answer:
Primary: New Gen (2015) of H&K G3(6)
Reasoning: Extremely reliable firearm coupled with excellent stock sights as well as an ambidextrous pull. Standard fold-able stock allows for easy storage. Super light weight polymer build with high quality steel insert and trigger grouping. Stays accurate at 600 yards
Sidearm: SIG P226 chambered in .357
Reasoning: Locking breech and extremely high grade steel make this the most reliable sidearm available to the open market. Heavy enough to use as a tool or CQC weapon, yet light enough when firing for extremely fast target acquisition within the pistols firing range. It isn't called the "To hell and back" pistol for nothing.

Is this some pasta I've never seen or just uncharted levels of autism?

Oh look its the "I say its autism so it must be" poster.
Please leave /k/ forever.

Commonality and availability is a factor in any hypothetical "SHTF" when determining a best choice.
Logistics wins.
>>31737028
Revolvers are quite heavy and unwieldy in close quarters situations. The lower shot count does not help it's favor either. However, yes, they are very reliable.
If you're more comfy shooting a revolver vs a poly/steel magazine sidearm, then by all means, use a revolver.
>>31737035
The whole point of SHTF is to prepare.
Commonality is a non issue with proper time to prepare.

this is the best answer.

9mm pistol (preferably Glock) and a 5.56 AR. This combo will be the best since they are the most common types of rifles and pistols in America and would be what you would have the best chance of finding on bodies and/or stashed away.

The best shtf weapon combo op is an internet connection and this posters autism
