Hey faggots, I got this sword. Good chance it is middle eastern aside it came from my grandfather and he got all kinds of shit from the area. I kind of assume that this is a piece like it.
Help to identify it please.

Poor tolerances, definitely not a sebenza.

I missed you, Sebenza man.
Makes me think of katana-inspired swords from Thailand and thereabout (pic showing one such). May be a tourist souvenir/wallhanger.
Is there are a ridge running along the side, or are the sides largely flat?
The decorations on the grip could probably identify it quite well if oyu had someone who recognised it properly.
I'd try over at www.vikingsword.com/vb/, this should be right up their alley. A photo of the tip may also help.

Thanks, the etching on the blade on mine is similar to your pic.

Have you tried looking up the serial number?

If you mean the fullers (the groves running along the length of the blade) then that doesn't necessarily say much, that's a somewhat widespread feature.
If you have decorative ones similar to the squiggly bit right by the guard on the one I posted then that may be a decent indicator that they're both from around the same area.
Either way, I don't think these were etched in with acid. Cut/engraved seems more likely. In case that ever ends up being relevant.

That decoration is known as Okir, Southern Philippines.
Really.
