Pic related. This is at 30 yards. This is a new ar 15 build. Magpul MBUS sights. I had to move the front sight post all the way "up" because of how low the gun was firing. I am aiming just under the bullseye. I am not "chasing it". Is there something else I should be doing. I sighted shooting 60 rounds, 3 rounds at a time then moving the target up to see my hits. Any ideas or suggestions?

How the fuck do you shoot that shit so close?
>Is your sight picture correct?
>are your sights securely mounted?
>were you shooting from a supported position?
>why are you trying to do a 6 o'clock hold on a rifle?
>>
>>31723204
More dry fire practice pham.

Are you shooting from a rest or standing?
>>
>>31723250

Yes, this is from a rest. One that my range has. My front sight post, visually, touches the bottom of the red dot in the middle. I am not 100% sure on my sight picture honestly. I have only really dealt with pistol and shotgun.
>>
Bro, do you even gun?
>>
Could it be something as stupid as my receiver and forend being slightly off level with each other?
>>
>>31723255
Possibly this. It helps to have someone watch the muzzle and see if you're jerking the trigger. Have them balance a quarter on the barrel and see if you can pull the trigger without knocking it off.
>>
You need to practice more.
>>
>>31723629
The front sight, barrel, upper receiver, and rear sight should all be one rigid assembly. Even if something were badly bent, you should still be shooting a tight group at 30 yards. It just wouldn't go where you're aiming.
>>
>>31723672
This is a 6 1/4" target. Everything seems rigid and tight. I will try trigger control. It has never been a problem on my 1911 or the 9mm I have.
>>
The only thing you're doing wrong is owning a plastic toy gun that flinches like a bitch when you pull the trigger. Could have had a great SKS from classic firearms for less than just about any good AR build
>>
>>31723204
What kind of ammo are you using?
>>
You're not going to get a good solution over a text and image board.

Next time you go to the range, ask an RO for help. At the very least, they'll be happy to help someone instead of yelling at some dipshit for nearly killing the person next to them.
>>
>>31723204

Try checking to make sure your sights are all tight. Unless you just suck, your sights might be moving around. I had a similar results after using cheapo scope rings and each shot would bump the scope to a new spot.

Is that your AUG? Looks tight, familia

Boresight you insufferable mall ninja gucci rail fag.
>>
>>31723799
I was using Tulsa 223 ammo.

>>31723923
I'll try that in the morning.
>>
>>31723763
This. Or pick up a Mini-14, much sturdier/quality build. No muzzle whip like you get with most cheap ARs.
>>
>>31724095
>>31723763
Stop trying to bait the noob you faggots
>>
>>31724094
>Tulammo .223 ??

Use 5.56 if it is chambered for it and see what it does. Or use some brass cased factory loaded ammo and see what happens. You might be surprised.
>>
>>31724153
I did chamber it for 5.56. I will also try that in the morning. Thanks for the people who actually applied some possible actual fixes.
>>
>>31723204
Not to seem like a douche but aren't you supposed to group low at that close of a range with an AR? Aren't you supposed to zero it an inch and a half low?
>>
Lemme add my two cents. Sorry to break it to you mate but this is really shitty shooting for 30 yards.

Let me break down some common problems.

1. How is your eyesight? Bad? good?
2. Work on your trigger discipline and get a nice SMOOTH trigger pull.
3. Focus on your front sight post as much as possible.
4. If you're a noob to shooting shoot with one eye closed.
5. Determine which is your dominant eye.

There's no way a gun or ammo could cause accuracy this bad in an Ar.
>>
>>31724398
I say use those extra cents and buy some better quality ammunition so you will make those shots count. IMHO I think brass cased ammunition is better to use in an AR platform. Leave the steel cased stuff for emergency or AKM, SKS type rifles.
>>
>>31724094
why would you expect accuracy from tula?
the other issue could be how you are resting the gun. if the barrel is touching anything it will effect accuracy
>>
>>31724398
I have been shooting for quite a while. Mostly handguns. I am, however, new to this style of sight. I ave no problems, as mentioned before with my 1911
>>
How do I work on compensating for or preventing muzzle rise?
>>
>>31724766
Concentrate on your breathing.

Grip the gun exactly the same every time. It should be snug, not a goddam death grip.

Breath out and squeeze gently with your whole hand, not just the trigger finger.

Practice.
>>
>>31724398
even 55g ammo out of a 1:7 barrel? or ill attached sights?
>>
Why has >>31723287 not been answered? A ~4" group at 30 yards while standing isn't good, but it's not beyond redemption.
>>
>>31724989
Yes 55 grain ammo out of a 1:7 is fine. Even if its steel case.

For plinking that setup would work fine accuracy wise unless you going for goddamn precision shots.
>>
>>31723204
Where you standing, kneeling, prone or simply using a rest while taking the shots?
>>
>>31725699
>>31725260
He did answer it you dumb fucks.
>>
Should probably be doing this at 50y.

>>31723204
Check your finger position, and take your time when you shoot. Fully recover after each shot.
>>
>>31723721
How does the trigger feel? Is it gritty as shit and such? If you shoot 1911s you're used to a nice trigger. A new mil-spec trigger on an AR is kinda a different animal, and fucked with me a bit when I first used it.
Aperture sights are also different thanblade sights. Concentrate on the front post and use the aperture to center your eye, your eye is the rear sight.
>>
>>31725880
This picture is good but in some minor ways isn't true.

The whole reason for using the first pad of your finger is to get a straight pull back without jerking to the left or right.

Pulling the trigger as shown in the picture makes it very easy to do such a thing but you can also use the first line behind the first pad as well.

Anything past that would be way too much trigger finger and anything too little than the first pad would be not enough.
