So this is literally my first time ever setting foot on this board. But I need a rifle. I've been looking for a cheap, reliable, bolt action rifle for a few weeks and am clueless on what would be the best bang for my buck. Help me /k/

Go with the savage axis series in whatever calibre but I have to recommend the 308
Hi point carbine
Read the sticky faget

Where the fuck do you live OP? That will narrow your options quite a bit
>>31720154
pretty much this. you get a lot of rifle for not a lot of price when you get a savage. and seconded on the 308 too, enough to take out pretty much anything you need dead and its still widely available and the recoil isnt too bad

I'll sell you a type 56 if you're near the dfw area

Kentucky. Surrounded by woods and neighbors shoot often so noise/laws aren't a problem
Well if you are looking for something cheap and reliable milsurp might be up your alley. If not there's still some decent cheaper new manufactured bolt actions.

It's been said but try savage axis
Some Remington rifles can be had for cheap
Some economy tier Weatherby and howa rifles are affordable and and very reliable
Otherwise, I'd suggest looking for a used rifle that's not too beat up. A functional rifle that retails new for $700+ with some scratches and wear could probably be had for $500 with some haggling

Stevens 200
Ruger American
Savage axis
