Wanted to get a 10/22 tactical but I don't want to be laughed at on the range because it's my first gun

The only .22 you need. MrkIII with a cut down barrel and suppressor at the end
>>
>>31719405
Anyone own a BSA Sweet .22 scope? Opinions?
>>
>>31720933
Don't be a pussy no one is going to give a shit about you firing a 10/22. You're at a range to have fun and shoot guns. Being a cuck and going over tacticool on a 22 is an amazing way to make everyone think you got a baby dick.
>>
>>31720952
Should I just save up and get an AR then?
>>
>>31720971
Buy a semi tactical 10/22 for like $300 and then build an AR, that's what I did.
>>
>>31720971
No just get the gun you want and like and will shoot.

which version?
>>
>>31719405
Well it's small and light. And you could carry a fuckload of ammo for it. .22lr can penetrate heads at least.

It would be the perfect standard issue zombie killing weapon.

inb4 shitstorm
>>
>>31721030
There's a reason hitmen like using .22s and water bottles.

Cheap, disposable, ammo so plentiful it's hard to trace. And most of the time people are selling them privately.
>>

I miss the old zombie apocalypse threads

I'm assuming something akin to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GtttRKsqlw

Basically, a container of water can make a pretty good single-use suppressor.
>>
>>31722623
he probably meant water bottles. you can make a suppressor from one fairly easily.

I need another 10/22. A takedown 10/22 with a folding stock. Pretty sure my bull barrel 10/22 weighs more than my SLR106, or at least it feels like it does.
>>
I thought that tactical 10/22s were lame and for faggots

also, why have a scope on a .22?
>>
>>31722867
>I thought that

Really made me think
>>
>>31719405
>Very interesting position for the mag release.
>Disgustingly short stock that looks useless whether folded or fixed in position.
>Never a fan of lacking iron sights
>Unnecessary but interesting bolt handle
>Unnecessary but neat looking checkering on the bolt body
>Dat barrel thickness tho
>Thread protector? Threaded barrel? If so, nice.

All in all, looks like a Hell of a nifty plinker, but with the mag release so dangerously close to the shooting hand, the lack of iron sights, and the stock that looks like it would only be comfortable in a child's usage, it looks like this is best kept as a range toy... for a child. With a bigger stock, it could be a range toy for a normal adult human.

Alter the mag release so it's not in such a dangerous position, get a longer stock, and get some irons, then you'll have more room to play with. I'd also say get a longer barrel for more velocity, but I think compactness is the name of the game here.
>>
>>31722884

???
>>
>>31722971
>useless whether folded
Well I would expect it to be useless when folded
>Dat barrel thickness tho
that's a suppressor anon
>>
>>31723065
If a folding stock is too short to use, then it's useless whether folded or not. It looks too tiny, and so defeats the purpose of having it altogether. As for it being silenced, ah, that makes more sense considering the barrel size.

Also, no, I don't see silencer/suppressor to be a mag/clip issue. They're interchangeable, and neither are incorrect.

>>
>>31721030
Yeah I don't really see carrying 1500rds of 22lr as an advantage if I have to dump half a man into some things face to stop it. Most actual handgun rounds aren't magic one shot wonders with head shot so why would a round that only fractured my fathers skull be a good choice

I'd probably bug out with this because I can carry my entire ammo inventory for it.
>>
>>31719405
Where the fuck would you even put your left hand at on that gun? On the mag?
>>
>>31723660
>don't see silencer/suppressor to be a mag/clip issue. They're interchangeable, and neither are incorrect.

Mag and clip are two very different things and using them interchangeably is in fact wrong even if it's in common usage. As for the silencer/suppressor thing, nobody implied otherwise, but the OP image isn't a thick barrel, it's a suppressor.

Lithgow LA101 in 22lr for bunny blasting and silhouette at the range. Thoroughly enjoy rimfire shooting.

nobody will make fun of you on a range.

>>
>>31720933
Just get a regular 10/22 ffs. You don't need a tacticool abomination for your first gun. Hell, it's going to be worth less than about anything you could put on it. Wait until you've got cash for an AR-15 if you want something covered in rails.
>>
>>31725641
Oh, so I was right... I THOUGHT that looked like a threaded barrel rather than silenced...

I got a .22 pistol waiting for me out at my old man's house I need to pick up one of these days, I always had a lot of fun shooting stuff with the rifles we had back in the day, but thinking about that handgun has me wondering

is .22 even practical within a self defense scenario? I mean the rounds aren't as big and their velocity is lower, couldn't that in some ways be more dangerous to shoot someone with?

this is an old pic from 2 years ago, the 10/22 was my first gun. I have since built an AR15 and bought a Mossberg 500
