>ITT: dudes that know their shit
R. Lee Ermy is a pogue who has never seen combat.
In before someone posts Chris Costa.
I took one of his classes. He told me quietly during a lunch break that he doesn't know how to swim.
How the fuck can you anons be impressed with a guy who can't even swim?
>>31716750
lol
He wouldn't have gotten in the CG if he didn't know.
>>31716084
>>31716766
Truly a modern day prophet.
>>31716101
My best DI was a pog. Their job is to make Marines, there's close to zero warfare training in boot camp.
Gunny is a badass I got to meet him in real life at a Toys for Tots charity.
>>31716764
That's not true. He's not the only costie who can't swim. 99.9% of them can. He said he just faked it and tried to be elsewhere else when they needed to do big swims.
>>31716808
ya im sure
>>31716084
I wish he was drastically more forthcoming with source materials for his claims. They are almost exclusively court cases from at least two decades ago or more where you would have to pay to receive a copy of the records and verify anything he claims. That said his advice still seems a great deal more sound and grounded than the vast majority of self defense types.
>>31717125
I mean, he has been around for like 40 years, if he was a bullshit peddler someone would have found out by now.
>>31717150
I know you aren't saying I am, but I'm hardly accusing him of some malfeasance. I just wish he was more transparent and less dad logic, he posits most of his conclusions upon the fact that he's been around so long and seen X but you'll have to take his word for it or pay to see the evidence (despite the fact that you're paying to see him or read him already).
>>31716084
He is willing to change his opinion about things(ammo effectiveness, etc) as technology progresses and he isn't in some big hurry to go to a fight.
Most of his conclusions seem reasonable.
I just finished reading that Glock book that came out a while ago, and he advocated for the NYPD edition trigger being the standard on Glocks lmao
>mossad a yoo
Not sure if roll bread.
If I had to take one class, it would be with Ron Avery, he seems like an excellent teacher. On the other hand, Jeff Cooper seems to be fuddlore personified.
>>31716084
BASED MASSAD
>mfw I just want to be lulled to sleep by his soothing deep voice telling me about the legal implications of deadly force in a self defense scenario
>>31717448
true story, i do this. Find a list of vids of his on yootoob when i go to bed. I work nights though so I do need help going to sleep in the AM.

Actually, this guy is the true prophet.

Massad is /K/ as fuck. I love listening to the proarms podcast and other podcasts he makes appearances on.
Mike Lamb.
>>31719112
This.
Travis is like the modern day tactical Bruce Lee
>>31719367
>Travis is like the modern day tactical Bruce Lee
I'm glad that someone else picked this up. Reading on Jeet Kune Do, there's so many similarities to Bruce Lee's approach to martial arts and Haley's approach to shooting.
He even quotes Bruce Lee in one of his videos.
>>31717411
Fudd? He pretty much invented modern combat handgunning. KYS
>>31716750
This is not the first time I've heard about this. I'm starting to think it might be true. It would be good to hear from him if he actually can or not.
>>31719449
can't spin the vin
>>31716808
>He said he just faked it and tried to be elsewhere else when they needed to do big swims.
There's no faking that shit in bootcamp. You either prove that you can swim, or you fucking drown.
Also he was apart of their special boarding crews if I remember correctly. He may not have seen action, but I have met a few of those guys and they for sure know how to swim since they have to be certified to be on a boat and board other boats. And certification takes a fuck ton of time, and boarding other boats has the risk of you know FALLING OFF.
Ernest Langdon
>>31720323
If he never fell off no one would ever know he faked it.
Chris Costa CANNOT swim. He told me so himself!
>>31720641
>Chris Costa CANNOT swim. He told me so himself!
Your Mom told me you blow more dicks in a day than Bailey Jay does in a year.
I'm probably alone, but I love Ian.

I had a dream Ian took me to the big sandy machine gun shoot.
>>31716101
Well obviously. The dude is a drill instructor. He's meant to host a komfy show on history channel. (Mail call, not that other one.)
>>31720788
>tfw I'm actually probably related to Ian
As much as he gets meme'd you gotta admit this dude knows his shit.
>>31720875
No one is going to dispute he knows a lot about food and eating.
>>31720697
Son, Ian is our dream girl. Stop being so green.
>>31720875

Roland Warzecha is pretty knowledgeable on shields and how they were used historically. It's pretty interesting to see old theories like this. Less has changed than you think.
>>31720650
Sure I suck dicks, but that doesn't change the fact that that muhfucka can't swim, knowamsayin'?
>>31716084
Riker, is that you?
>>31721171
holy shit he's gotten fat
>>31721154
vroom! vroom! Where the cronuts at
>>31721218
On the topic of European arms and armor Dr. Capwell is pretty based, if a bit autistic.
>>31717448
Amen.
Guy's got pipes of gold. Shoulda been in radio. Imagine him spinning smooth jazz records at 1 am while you're trying to bang some qt you coaxed home from the bar.
>all right all you smooth jazz fans, that was David Sanborn doing "Chicago Song" now let's give a listen to Oli Silk's "Chill or be Chilled"
>panties drop
>>31720697
Ian is like that one kid that had autism in school, but got ahold of it later and became really successful and interesting.
>>31723930
Now I'm sad.
I miss that man
>>31717150
>>31717255
This part of why I like colion noir even though I hate noirisms. He's like Ayoob:the next generation. Or has the potential to be anyway
>>31722307
I don't know much about the guy personally but I know he has some sweet fucking armor
>>31723930
too soon :(
>>31720461
My negroid compatriot
Also submitting Clint Smith and Paul howe
>>31724078
He's curator of Arms and Armor at the Wallace Collection in London, one of the largest collections of arms and armor in Europe if I'm remembering correctly. He made a suit of armor to defend his thesis and jousts regularly, really interesting guy in his passion for this stuff.
>>31717531
>>31720709
I don't pretend otherwise, but Dale Dye is the real deal.
>>31719449
That's the face of a man who has seen Hell and conquered it.
>>31724631
>He made a suit of armor to defend his thesis
The amusing symbolism of this statement is not lost on me.
>>31716101
I thought he was in Nam.
>>31720823
>>tfw I'm actually probably related to Ian
Go on then, explain.
>>31725732
It's a shame defending theses doesn't involve full armor and a duel.
