Any aspiring LEO's here?
I'm supposed to start my academy here in novemeber - it's for cook county corrections.
I have to buy my own gear for the most part (uniform is compensated ) and I'm wondering what gun you guys wen't with, are going with or just want to get even if you're NOT a LEO.
I'd go with a Glock 19 because it's the Thinkpad of pistols

Best advice I can give is to speak to other LEOs in your area and find out what handgun, flashlight, etc. most of them seem to be using.
Pick something similar so you can use the same magazines and batteries should you run out in a hairy situation for whatever reason.
>aspiring to write people speeding tickets, bust kids for smoking pot and break up great house parties
>selling out normal folks for special gun rights to Democrats
Fuck off

I'm voting trump and love my 2nd amendment - won't be writing tickets, I'd be in dept. of corrections.

My department makes us supply our own guns too, went to a rental range to try a glock 17, p30, 92fs, p226, and ppq. The Glock happened to be the most accurate and smoothest for me, which I hate because I hate the Glock Fandom. Bought one and am gonna use it as myou weapon
Since when do prison guards carry guns? I thought only a few at the gates and in watch towers do. If you are mixed in with the prisoners, having a gun is a detriment.

I'm in the process with Chicago Police. Now that they've changed shit you only get to choose a 17 or 19 and a 26 or 43 for backup/off duty. When I go to the academy I'll prob go with a 17, I already own a 26. Good luck anon.
I wish I could be a cop. TFW I have severe arthritis problems and could never pass the physical side.
COs don't normally carry guns, sometimes in transport.
Any LEO entering the jails and prisons has to remove their firearms anyway, we have to throw them in a lockbox even coming in through the Sally port and going no further than booking.

Or the 23.. 40 in a nice mid size frame. Not to big, not to small. Off duty you can conceal it easily, and on duty throw in an extended mag for open carry.

Fandom is just retarded internet shit. Use what works and you can afford the rest is preference

Sherrif deputies are like deployed MP's in that they will do whatever they are needed for with a minimum of training and pay. That said they do handle their shit rather well all considered

This man gets it.

Did they tell you to buy a gun or did you just assume you should?
