cosmetically it looks fine, hell of a nice amount of mags. If you want a 551, its a bit high of a price, but not bad overall.

Some things;
Don't expect 550 level accuracy, its an accurate rifle, but not that level. the mags are a bit hard to find, so the seller is doing you a solid here.

its the closest you'll get to a 550 man. go for it if you want too. Personally, i have never regretted buying my 556, and im happy i did, but it doesnt have the weird mags, or that high a price.

I paid more for mine and I honestly kind of regret it. Not buying the rifle, just paying that much. The rifle is good but it didn't come with irons and only one mag. I just got a decent bonus pay from work and I honestly wasn't thinking hard about it. All I thought was "holy fuck, a 551. I haven't seen one for sale in forever, I should buy it now!". And on that day, I learned a valuable lesson on researching prices before dropping that much money on a rifle that I mostly want because of an anime with cute raifus.

I know there was a thread arguing over the 551 a day or two ago, mostly arguing over the accuracy of the rifle and how MAC reviewed it. I just wanted to throw this out there. Not that it makes a HUGE difference, but the rifle has a 1/7 twist and he was shooting non-match grade 55gr ammo. I'm sure there would had been a difference if he shot ammo that was optimal for the rifle.

Not gonna be a complete conversion, but close enough unless you're lucky to find an upper.. 556 lowers uses STAGNAG, 550 lowers uses the original mags. Also if you're worried about the quality of the receiver and the firearm in general, you might as well change a few things to improve it. Then the last piece would be authencity. Nothing feels pretty great like a grey lower and the original OD green grips and handguards. Kudos if you can get it with a bipod. Not to mention they're not bad at $400 bucks.
