If I purchase one of these I wont be using it much.
Should I buy this /k/?

I haven't really heard much about the C39v2. All I really know is that the RAS-47 is the worst of the two.
C39v2 is passable, from what I've seen. At least, it's not as hilariously shitty as a RAS-47 or any IO. Still, you'd probably be better off finding a WASR or something of that sort. Or hell, just save a couple of hundred dollars up and go get an Arsenal, which you can actually trust to hold up to some proper abuse.
I bought a RAS in April and I'm nearing 2000 rounds, thing is a beast. Not really sure where all the RAS criticism comes from, I watch the videos from AK operators and others and it seems like hyperbole of little problems, like minor deformations and scuffs on the carrier and piston. The rifle has done really well, eats everything I feed it. Red army, brown bear, Tula, monarch, even some old Chinese surplus all just runs very well. Not to mention I get a very nice 1-2 inch group at 110 yards. Considering the c39v2 is supposed to be the better quality rifle, I'm sure it holds up pretty well.

The RAS-47 is good for the casual shooter. It's just that most people who want an AK don't want it to crap out on them going through abuse.

Arsenal run $1500 out here. Im not paying $1500 for marginal reliability/accuracy.

>made in US Century rifle
Yeah it's shit. It's not RAS-47 level shit but its not good.
>>31708780
Because Century quality control is garbage for literally everything they produce in-house. You could get a passable one like you did, or you could get one that shoots itself apart in a few thousand rounds
>>31708855
Can't you just order one? K-Var and a bunch of other sites have SLR's for just over $1,000 or so.
>>31708855
get a WASR. Century Imports aren't shit
>>31708908
I'll look into that
>>31708971
To confirm, aren't?
Ras
>cast everything even the trunnions
>improper heat treat\questionable materials
Look up locking lugs and trunnions cracking/shearing

Aren't. Their imports are generally good. WASRs are good.
It's the stuff they produce domestically which is notoriously bad
What's the point of buying an American made AK?
>>31708908
not in 7.62x39
>>31709057
This.
Also>>31708908 everything is out of stock and not California compliant.
