does anyone do this?
Like a camo or a logo?
Do you ask a gun smith to faggatronize your gun or do you do it yourself?
Do you use Duracoat? Hydro dipping? Vinyl decals? Walmart spray paint?

firearm cosmetic thread I guess.

It's suprising how they aren't really a thing.
With all the "SCARY BLACK SALT RIFLE" people judging firearms by apparence and increasing number of female gun buyers, they would give you more options in color besides wood, black, silver and flat earth.

why? it's not any more durable than spray paint really and if I need camo, spray paint is easily applied, relatively easily removed with acetone again and hence can be changed for changing environments.

kanadafag here, fiancee and I are about to get our licence and start shooting.

She wants a pink gun. Cliché? Sure. But the way I see it, dudes want their gun to look "cool", and that usually means all black and tactical, or with some camo pattern, or whatever tacticool desert-colored duracoat, or in a good old-fashioned wood grain stock. Why is it so wrong for a chick to want their gun to look "pretty"?

On that same note, I might thing a dude who paints his glock baby blue is stupid, but who cares? it's just aesthetics. If you want to talk about painting a gun for better camouflage, then fine, baby blue is objectively crap. But if you're talking about subjective aesthetics, who the hell cares?

IIRC, the anon with the samurai edges dumped a ton of cash into them to make them as accurate as possible. It involved getting a brigadier, stainless barrel, stars grips with magwell, and then sending it off to get engraved with the appropriate markings.

>I'd image it'd be $2k+ when it's all said and done.

You would be correct. It's about a $2000 project. Maybe a little less if you're lucky and can find the right parts online.

>>31701895
You can do it this way, sure. But mine went a little something like this:

-92 Brigadier: $650
-Beretta 92F: $400
-DS Grips: $150
-Bar-sto match target SS barrel: $225
-Slide work: $400
-various Wolff components (hammer springs, TCU, SS guide rod): $50
-Barrel gunsmithing: $125 (may change depending on who does it for you)

So yeah. That's a $2000 ticket. Granted, I was left over with an entire Beretta pistol that I could probably easily sell for $400+, lowering the overall cost to $1600 or so, but it's actually a smooth shooter, so I kept it for now.

>>31702157
Gross. To me, just adding some grips and swapping out the standard barrel for Beretta's Inox barrel looks like garbage, especially with the slanted dust cover.

You can check out a little YouTube video I made that goes into detail about my Samurai Edge (warning: autism alert). I have a short range video coming soon, too. I have all the footage, I just haven't edited it yet.

Basically I needed a straight dust cover frame along with a Brigadier slide (nearly impossible to find on their own). Now, there are Brigadier pistols that came with a straight dust cover, but they are kind of rare and I spent months looking for one for sale online, but couldn't find one. So my patience ran out and I decided that I could buy a new Beretta Brigadier and then a used Beretta 92F and just swap the parts. I could sell the leftover pistol and make money back, but I'm a big Beretta fan, so I've kept it for now. Pic related.

>>
Any tips to do these stuff without dedicated special equipment or going to a gun smith?

This thread is giving me some mixed messages about duracoat. In another thread I remember some anon suggested rustoleum or something.
>>
>>31708666
Are you talking about just painting the guns? Because yeah, a lot of people just use standard spraypaints (Rustoleum, Kyrlon, etc).

Just make sure you lay down a thin base coat, and then follow it up with more thin coats of whatever color you're doing. The spray paint is surprisingly durable, just make sure that you allow adequate time to dry. Probably an hour or so between coats (even if it says shit like 15 min drying periods on the can). And then you can just touch it up as needed.

I'd like this if it had a couple more colors on it, I really dig the bright, saturated aesthetic.

What cerakote colors are approved as far as pistols go?
1. Burnt bronze - slide non coated or black coated -frame

This is a 590 right? I've been thinking about getting the Magpul foregrip, but I remember hearing that the heat shield and it aren't compatible. What'd it take for you to be able to rack it fully?

I worked for a shop and did cerakote on occasion.

Here is a Barrett 82 with suppressor in desert tan. I have other photos of other shit (some actual shit). Plus tips.

If anyone is interested

Thoughts on painting an AR with a crusader lower white with red accents like a Templar or keeping it black but with white accents like a Hostpitaller? Would keep the barrel black either way.
>>
>>31705321
I don't think the barrel's allowed to be orange unless it's nonlethal/less than lethal

I agree with >>31719168

The idea is there, but the execution is flawed. Maybe make the colors a couple shades darker, and paint some of the finer details in different colors, too. There's so many lines and parts that could be accentuated by doing that.

If I had an extra AK beater laying around, I would attempt it.

Never took a photo of the final product, unfortunately. I painted the star and circle in a solid red. We were mostly goofing off and one guy said he didn't care what we did with his pistol. That was it.

Here is an AR I did a camo job on. Notice the design being seamless between upper and lower.

Here is a PSG-1 (for real). It belonged to the guy who had the Barrett 82 shown above.

That dickhole camo-dipped the PSG-1 and then had me kote it. I was disgusted when I first saw him bring it in and what he asked for. But he paid well.

Part of me died in this rifle.

Epic cringe in 3...2...
>>
>>31689984
I once filled in the lettering on my M&P9c with white nail paint. I removed it later because it looked too niggerish.

I once messed up the original grips on a snazzy little 1980s full-metal S&W double-stack compact 9mm (can't remember the model) because it was too chunky and I wanted more grip. Then I searched online for semi-uncommon aftermarket checkered grips and it was perfect. I bought it at a pawn shop for $375 and sold it for chump change to a legitimate gun store because I had to move out of state.

One time I lost the retaining pin for the extractor on my 10/22 while I was cleaning it and had to form a spare out of a .22 case. It worked perfectly. Turned out the pin rolled behind my desk, but my 10/22 was blingin' the whole time it had dat brass on the the bolt.

Since Steyr stopped making white AUGs and buying the same gun just a different color for like twice the fucking price is retarded, whats the best way for me to go about making an AUG white? What kind of paint won't scrape off easily?
