How's the damage? You survive the hurricane? I got fucked but indirectly fucked. I'll post about it if you guys give a shit but I know you don't so fuck you. I had power and drank the whole time.
>>
>>31687960
I did not survive the hurricane, unfortunately. I drowned during one of the floods and was pinned under. They still haven't found my body yet.
>>
>>31687984
That's terrible anon, I hope you make a recovery from the drowning
>>
>>31687960
The hurricane was awful. It flooded only the back room of my house and my entire safe full of guns got washed away with the storm surge.
>>
>>31687984
At least you understand that you can die peacefully AFTER reporting for duty, like a good soldier.

We barely got hit in Tampa at all.

FL fag question.

What would be the most effective gun to keep in my glove box as an under 21 uni student?

Tampa has some rough areas and I'd like something to shoot back with if shit went down.

Hardmode-No Pistols.

I'm thinking a Sub2k in my car, and my 12 Gauge Browning rebarreled for 20" under my bed loaded with 4° buck.

Cant bring AR for parental reasons, its "overkill".

At a wedding in Vero being eaten by mosquitoes right now.

That said, I missed this state. I ended up moving from Cocoa Beach to Houston not long ago, and I already want to move back. The BBQ in Texas is far superior, otherwise I think Florida is better.

>better roads
>better food (not BBQ)
>better air quality
>better gun prices
>better scenery
>better cities
>more shit to do
>>
>>31688074
How the fuck are you going to fit anything other than a pistol in your glove box? Are you retarded? I'd only leave a pistol I don't give a fuck about. If you reveal any type of power level in public it makes your car prime suspect as a collage student to get stolen from. As most people don't have the balls and brains to cc during class and not tell a soul. I leave a Canik tp9 in my suv. 18+1 9mm reliable and cheap. Gtg.
>>
>>31688109
Really man? I've always thought that Texas sounded nice. But we got the Cuban booties over here so yeah idk

>>
>>31688132
Don't display power level and I have a large glove, maybe a folded Sub2K would fit.

I'm concerned that an automatic would be knocked out of battery in a carjacking situation, is this a valid concern?
>>
>>31688146
Probably doesn't help I'm in Houston.

Maybe San Antonio would be nicer, I don't know. Houston just sucks honestly, the suburbs like Pearland (Where Primary Arms is), and League City are much nicer. But it's more humid than Florida, hotter than Florida, and the air phyically burns to inhale.
>>
>>31688414
if in a situation arises where someone can get a hold of your firearm and magistrate be able to render inoperable, you should have knifed the fucker in the throat. These things cannot be accounted for as the primary method of purchase decision, just something you have to respond to. If your worried about your firearm not going off Ina struggle, pack a hammerless revolver. If they grab onto it hey will be burned from the gasses and you can shoot directly against things (inside of jacket/ people) without fear of a slide being caught up. In this case I'd say stop listening to your parents and buy the AR that you originally purposed and they said was overkill.
>>
>>31688109
Food in Texas is wayyyy better. Maybe because you don't know where to look, but Texas, specifically Dallas and Austin, has way better food than anything available in Florida, if not solely due to sheer size of the cities and diversity. I challenge you to find good Korean BBQ, German food, or Ethiopian in Florida.

>>31688414
You're dumb. Get a mossman and throw it in your trunk, or get some poorfag pistol for your insanely large glove box. Chances are, you'll never use it, and if you do, you won't get in a gun fight, even in the worse parts of Tampa. You're a college student, not a cop. Spending $500+ on something that's going to sit in your glovebox and not do anything is a waste of time/money.
>>
>>31688018
>not bolting down your safe

safe loss on you
>>
>>31688039
Yeah man. Along with the safe, my dog also got swept away. It was a freak accident. I'm sure other Florida fags have experienced this before.
>>
>>31688569
Hollerbach cafe? Sanford, Florida. Eins Biens the bees knees with heaven and earth potatoes. Oh yeahhhh
>>
>>31688606
>>not realizing atf is afoot
>>
>>31688609
Hollerbach is good, I'll give you that one. But c'mon, Ethiopian food? Mexican and Hispanic food? Tapas? Korean? Every flavor of brown people food? I could wake up at 3am any day of the week in Dallas, drive 15min to Harry Hines Blvd and eat street tacos for $1.25 a piece.

Florida has its perks, but restaurant food is definitely not a staple. There's not even random land that you can wander out on and shoot here, and every range by me is either indoor or special snowflake membership outdoor.
>>
>>31688664
I've never tried eitheopian food. What's it like? I saw one down on i drive and didn't stop in. There's good Mexican food everywhere man. Plus tiajuana flats motherfucker. I don't really like Florida all that much but I'm working with what I've got.
>>tfw no ones "reportin' in"
>>
>>31688664
>>still paying top dollar at Korean bbq restaurants and not realizing. The secret is honey and pears. Fucking pleb.
>>
>>31688664
I'm in Houston, so the food profile is much different. Dank Malaysian food, and TexMex, otherwise I had better experiences with the restaurants in Florida.

I honestly prefer the burrito places in Florida better (Da Kine, Tijuana Flats), the places in Houston are way too heavy. I enjoy my burritos nice and light. Maybe Dallas is different, but Houston fucking sucks.
>>
>>31687984
you probably had information that would lead to hillary's arrest
>>
>>31688895
No sir, you are describing your burritos entirely wrong. There is a fine line when an over loaded burrito becomes a taco salad (if you don't eat burritos with chips your cancer), and a perfectly purportioned for tortilla, end-to-end placement of ingredients, is enjoyed as a person should eat without worry and without a plate. One of the reasons Latinos prefer this, as it is a quick-in hand food.
>>
>>31688895
Trips check'd
>>
Op here,When the fuck did my hurricane thread become postan about food? And detailed descriptions of burritos?
>>
>>31688826
It's got a lot of Middle Eastern inspiration for African food, but it's really unique and ironically good/filling. They use the concept of using a flat bread like Indian naan to eat with, while using a lot of beans, vegetables, and pickled stuff like other African food. Their injera (flat bread) is spongy and sour tasting, but oddly satisfying with their food and it's often used as a plate for which the food is scooped on. I'm not gonna say it's for everyone, but I think it's a good experience.

>>31688895
>Yelp Elite for 3 years
Pls don't hate. The girlfriend turned me into a food snob.
I like to try food in a vacuum and base my shit off of their respective genre. Like if I go to a shitty rundown Tex Mex place, I'm not gonna bash them for being rundown and not speaking good English because maybe, in the world of divey Tex Mex places, they're extremely amazing. Nah'm sayn? With that being said, I still think Texas > Florida.

>>31688866
And we're not even just talking Korean BBQ here. I'm talkin bar food, I'm talkin homestyle with intestines. Korean BBQ is what California Roll is to Japanese food.

In an attempt to get back on track, does anyone know anywhere to go innawoods and shoot? I was thinking doing it a few miles off shore, but God forbid I actually do lose my guns in a boating accident...
>>
>>31688966
But you're not describing burritos in Texas at all.

They load them until they're stuffed to the brim with refried beans, meat, lettuce, cabbage, etc. They are easily 1500+ kcals.

Da Kine in Satellite Beach fills it with just enough to satisfy. Jasmine rice, meat, beans, some sauce, and cheese. Perfect portions, calorie and nutrient amounts, won't overwhelm you.

>>31689140
Was meaning to say that I prefer what you described at da kine. I don't really mind too badly if iknow ahead of time I'm eating a two stage burrito but it is what it is.
Just to let you know, there's place everyone shoots at in Osteen. Pretty Unknown cept from word of moth. Legit too, some Canadians surprisingly bought it to keep as public land for ppl to fuck around at. Thought about doing a central Florida meet up there but I didn't want to blow the spot up with kommandos that want to show everyone they're new super awesome place and now all of a sudden everyone is shooting out there. And fuck off atf, private land and I've already talked to the police out there. They gave me the green light. I've got no dog. Come at me fuckers!

Hi Floridians. Non /k/ommando here. Canuck from the peoples republic of Ontario, where trying to get guns means your an evil babykiller. Anyway..

I'm headed to Orlando in a month or two and looking to engage in good old American freedom. Whats required to go to a range, rent something and empty some clips? Does anyone have any suggestions for a good range?

Sup /k/anuck

Stay away from Machine Gun America on US 192, It's a total ripoff.

Go to Orlando Gun Club. ~$50 US for range fee, pistol rental (change out as many times as you want, they have a decent selection of rentals) a box of 9mm, and eye and ear pro. They've got rental rifles and full auto too, but anything full auto is going to be a ripoff.

first time seeing USF fags on here

do any of you have advice for shooting on public land? any spots to know about?
anything in the 727 or 813
>>
>>31715291
Recently moved down to the tampa area here and I would also like to know. Also any good gun stores or ones to stay away from?
>>
>>31715505
Shoot Straight is a good chain to deal with, generally speaking. The three I usually go to will get surplus from local PDs and other neat things in addition to their new stock.

The brick and mortar stores vary wildly, really just depends on whether the people there like you. Check their transfer prices, it's usually a good indicator of whether they are dicks or not.

Reading up on public land stuff, but I want to hear from someone who actually has a spot; they don't have to say where it is, just how to find one.
>>
Can someone post the Wisconsin version of OP's image please?

Checking in. Minor damage to the house and fences. I live 20 miles west of Daytona. We got some good gusts, but it was mostly a sit on the porch and watch the wind and rain event. There is a ton of tree debris. I'm just waiting for my local range to open back up fully.
>>
>>31715561
So after quite a bit of reading, this is the most definitive answer I've found regarding target shooting on public land in FL:
>WMAs aren't a good option; there's only one remotely close to 727 and 813
>all of the literature on their sites strongly "discourages" target shooting
>the WMA direction to LEOs is that target shooting is permitted (?)
they just want to keep it hush-hush, but I could see this turning into a shitty situation. I've been wading through turbo-fudd rheotoric and legalese for the last hour or so. some of the most anti-2A stuff I've seen in a while.

from what I can tell after HB-45, you can shoot on wmas if you
1. You can ONLY target shoot on a WMA during hunting season where the firearm in question is a legal method of take, so you cant go target shooting during archery season..ect..
2. You cannot damage any trees (i.e. hang targets on them)
3. You have a safe backstop - this is the tricky one in Florida, finding a good natural burm to use as a backstop could prove tricky. They do not define what a "safe backstop" is so this is open to legal interpretation..
4. You clean up your spent shell casings and other trash.
Its prohibitively ridiculous

Hey bros op here I'll message you guys about my spot I shoot at, I've already talked to local pd and Fire dept all clear [email protected]
>>
It's north central fl area btw, just trying to help out /k/ommandos. I've kept it quiet for maybe year but my friends have been asking me lately and after telling a few of my redneck friends I realized wtf am I doing... I'd rather have some /k/ommandos out there

I've heard conflicting advice on point #1 there. The other side says that target shooting is independently considered from hunting and therefore there are no restrictions on what firearms can be discharged during any given season so long as they are not used to hunt. Open carry in any capacity is permitted on WMA land, of course.

The rest of it checks out.

gotta love fudds and politicians making everything more confusing
>>
>>31719479
They're scared of noise and stray rounds.

What few free public ranges we have here do indeed shore up a fair amount of idiots, but there aren't many problems with safety. It's not a significant problem in other states either.

I'll miss this place, especially Publix and the gun prices.

What should I do on my last day in the Orlando/Tampa area?
>>
>>31720242
Visit the yuenling brewery

Moved out of Tampa

I'm not 21 yet.

Thinking of eating at the Columbia and maybe going to the range or aquarium.
>>
>>31720268
Go to the Columbia, get the Paella. It's so fucking good

>>31719391
What general region?

First off (I'll forgive you tho)

East Orange is pretty good for an indoor range. You'll just need your ID for most places, and I'd bring your passport to these places just in case.

I made this state flag thing, do you guys want me to add any other stores/rights we have? I made an ak variant as well if you guys want it.

Oh good, I've been hoping for a thread like this for a while.
I'm probably moving to Florida soon, I'm a high school graduate with basically no skills other than running a register, however I'm fairly smart and personable.
What area should I move to? Is there any particular area where I can get a job easily? Any jobs you Florida bros would recommend? Any help appreciated!

Also, how common are anacondas? I really fucking dont like snakes.
>>
>>31723749
Central-fag here. No anacondas unless you go to the Glades really. Being that I've been here my whole life, I think central is the best. Easy to come by jobs near Oviedo/UCF area and the people in Oviedo are pretty nice. Plus the night life is nice in Orlando (Only really places to go when you turn 21).
>>
>>31723885
How is Orlando? I would assume theres a lot of jobs due to the massive tourism? Also why do people say fuck Miami?
>>
>>31723919
Because Miami = Cuba 2.0. Orlando is nice, I live near UCF/Oviedo. Since its a college town, there's a lot of jobs fitting for college students. Driving down I4 sucks, and Alafaya sucks driving down for the same reason.
>>
>>31724628
Thanks for the info, was just talking to my parents about going to Orlando. Is there anything in the way of decent paying jobs above minimum wage? Also what would a mediocre one bedroom apartment cost, I don't need anything nice.
>>
>>31724628
All dem college sloots. Tampa/St. Pete is chill, but not such a booming economy for someone in your position, same with Ft. Myers. I'd probably go with the Orlando area too. Plenty of shooting ranges, big job market (for you), and again, college sloots.
>>
>>31724784
Minimum is 8.05 but there's jobs that offer above that. I get payed 9.50 for my job, and my buddy gets payed 11 working for Forever 21. I don't know much about apartments tho, I still live at home (20 y/o). But I've heard $5-600 including utilities, but I dont know if that's the lowest.

Orlandofag here,

Wind, rain, down branches. Lost power for 5 hours.

Watched /k/ movies all night hugging my ar15
